In exciting magazine news, my local shop stopped carrying Gothic Beauty so I was happy to pick up the last issue at Pegasus Books in Berkeley. I thought, "This seems like a particularly Jilli issue what with the big ad by Kambriel, the Voltaire profile and the Steampunk fashion spread."
And there she was on page 11 at the Goth Convergence. (The report of which was super gossippy and catty and fun.)
Also got Tiki Magazine to inspire my liner note gig that has to be done this week. Plus the official 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Yearbook for my friend Chip.
Oh, and the Rock and Roll Comics issue on The Cure.

A few too many mimosas. I have a feeling this will be my Sunday ritual for a while.
I take it you were at a tree-trimming party.
Did you already hear the fuzzy sweater story?
Timelies!
Today I participated in my first race. I still think people who run for fun are crazy, but I averaged my 6.2 miles at 12.5 minutes/mile (close to 78 minutes). My personal goals were to finish the race, hopefully under 90 minutes, and hopefully not to be last. So go me! I am a wee disappointed because I've been able to do better during training, but I have to remember that I've only been training for 6 weeks.
Now I am very sore. Also, I need to find more races to keep me motivated. Because running sucks! And yet I have to be able to run for the triathlon I signed up for!
Waves swiss cowbells and 'go D!' banners. You did awesomely!
I wish we weren't all completely filled with the pre-school cold miasma. Because then I could ring the cowbells without scrunching my eyes.
And I have now worked at some point during the day for twenty-one days straight. This is not a personal goal.
eta: sparky reports that there is cute and puppy in her house. and that the puppy trips over the cute quite frequently.
Was it here, that we were talking about pharma sales reps? From teh WashPost:
"The industry actually spends an average of $25 billion a year on marketing, and 60 percent of that is for pharmaceutical samples, Powell said. Last year, it also spent $55.2 billion on research and development of new medicines, she said."
