I hate Sunday nights. They always bring me a mild depression, with the realization that my laziness is at an end.
Ah yes, I know the feeling.
Currently, though, I must confess, I'm rolling around gleefully in a Monday Morning sans work, for it is the Half Term Holiday.
...although I've got to go into work to write reports, since they're due the first week back and I'm off to Singapore to rely upon the kindness of strangers tomorrow. Um. So I should really get up, get dressed and stop with the gleeful lazing.
rolls around gleefully some more
my best to zenkitty and family. and also ma~~~ for P-c's surgery.
Somedays should have a do-over. when a weekend day should be a do-over - I want two days to make up for it. DH had some sort of an allergic reaction to something . hen we were far from home. happily there was a little teeny hospital only a couple of miles from where we were. we just got home. I think I can breathe now. He looks so much better than he did earlier today.
Oh, scary, beth! Glad he is okay and home.
Shoulder-and-so-forth~ma, Polter.
Yikes, beth!! Your DH needs to not do that ever again.
All kinds of ~ma to you, P-C.
Hope it all goes smoothly, P-Cow.
Vw, I haven't been home all day--sorry I missed you. Feel free to email.
Beth, eep! I'm so glad Matt is okay!
Good luck with the surgery, PC.
Surgery-ma, P-C.
I'm glad Matt is ok. Allergic reactions are so scary.
Go Sox! Now I can breathe for a couple of days until the World Series starts.
Falsely accused woman freed after 70 years
Seventy years locked up in institutions hardly seems to be a punishment that befits the crime of stealing half-a-crown.
However, it is just such a fate that befell Jean Gambell when at the age of 15, in 1937, she was falsely accused of stealing 2s 6d (12.5p) from the doctor's surgery where she worked as a cleaner.
She was sectioned under the 1890 Lunacy Act and even though the money was later found, she has been moved from mental institution to mental institution.
She spent years, lost in a maze of instutitons and care homes, trying to convince people in authority that she had a family. But nobody would believe her.
Macclesfield Social Services are now conducting an inquiry into Miss Gambell's incarceration.
Edited: for brevity.
Wow. I'm just...wow.
