Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Fay, when Jess and Plei appear today, ask them, as they are the hair color goddesses.

Out of interest - the folks in your club/extended community - any of them Primary Teachers? (I'm thinking that it's a hobby that could get a girl in trouble.)

I don't think that there are any in my local group, though it's very small, and I tend not to be intrusive when it comes to people's lives (meaning, I often don't ask what people do for a living). There is an oddly high percentage of lawyers, and a (not-so-oddly) high percentage of computer/tech geeks.

Being outed is a big concern, and it definitely leads some people to minimize their public involvement. It sucks that things have to be this way, but people have to watch their backs, y'know?

Librarian Warlord

Happy Birthday, DJ!

The DH and I came home on Saturday and then spent yesterday admiring the newly sanded/polyurethaned floors, put together a desk, raked leaves at the new house, set up the composter, and vacuumed as much dust as we possibly could in every room with DH holding the vacuum in his arms so it wouldn't touch the dry-but-still-curing floors.

Happy birthday, Daisy Jane!

{{Sean and S}} Pukesgiving 2007, indeed. I'm so sorry that your trip that started out with such hair tearing anxiety ended with being so damn sick.

It's hard when it's both of you, isn't it? It's like, dammit, who's going to go get the ginger ale?!?!? We had a similar situation after our trip to Ohio back in June.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Should be finding out today about "the arrangements." (which I put in quotes because it's such a weird term to my ears)

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So - drawing upon the Hivemind, what do we know about dying hair which is naturally a dirty blonde shade, and currently - more by art than nature - a fairly light/golden blonde shade?

Ooh, I know this one! I did a fairly light red from a box several times, which worked just fine, but went ahead and went to a real person when I finally wanted to go darker. I'm well into my second year of dark brownish red, and I adore it. Seems to go better with my features.

Henna worked really well as well (and gave great colors), but was an enormous pain in the ass.

not your mom's socks.

Happy Birthday Daisy Jane & Welcome Back stateside! If I missed it, apologies, but did you like Buda or Pest better?

Sparky - congrats on the new floors! Whence commences the move? How was the weekend?

d- don't think I missed your awesome run news. You Go! So glad your knee is better. Still conflicted re: Harold & Maude ?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I definately liked Pest better for being out and about and Buda for the sights. It felt like there was a lot more to do Pest side and a lot more to see Buda side.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Thanks for the bubblewrap. If only I would remember to wear it when I did dangerous things like getting out of the car to go into a Starbucks. I see the world's best chiropracter later today, so that should help. I do have very CSI-like evidence on my leg showing the height of the curb.

Today I discovered the dog will try to chew the end of a USB cable. He thinks that rain is a horrible trick I'm playing on him. He probably hasn't had much of a chance to learn about rain, considering that most of his life has been during the driest year ever. ::Does the dance of rain ::

I have not yet discovered whether he likes carrots.
