Jayne: We was just about to spring into action, Captain. Complicated escape and rescue op. Wash: I was going to watch. It was very exciting.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Wow, I completely forgot it was Black Friday. Maybe I'll do some online shopping...

Grampa is doing the same, meaning not better, meaning they're going to operate toda. The surgeon is the same guy who took my appendix out (about 10 years ago) while I was home for my sister's high school graduation, which I think makes him out official Remover Of Unnecessary Organs for Family Members Who Don't Even Live Here.

Cashmere, ~ma for your Grandma.

In completely frivolous news, Dylan did not make the Gap Casting Call finalists, but there is another kid named Dylan in the same category (baby boys 0-4) who looks surprisingly like him. I guess there was only room for one!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sometimes I think the best part of Thanksgiving is having pie for breakfast the next few days.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

{{{Cashmere and family}}}

I don't think we're going to do any shopping today. We did our Christmas presents to and from DH's side of the family last night, so we'll need to figure out what we can pack and what we can ship. And, you know, persuade Annabel that her new Backyardigans play-doh pirate ship is not an appropriate item for her carry-on bag. I did get a duplicate book, so I might try to trade it in at the Borders near MIL's house rather than ship it back, because it's a hardcover I'm planning to convert into 3-4 paperbacks, which would be lighter and easier to pack.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Many sympathies, Cashmere and family.

I'm at work today. Perhaps the easiest commute of the year. Very few people here. Prospects of the office closing early.

If only my immediate supervisor -- who sits right across the hall from me, so I can't really avoid him should I so wish -- had decided to take the day off.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Still full from dinner! Sheesh.

Cashmere- much ~ma to you, your DH, and his family.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm so sorry, Cash. My sympathies to your DH (my last grandparent died two years ago, and it was entirely expected and entirely miserable) and all his family.

Much ~ma to your grandfather, Jess.

Matilda and I are hiding in the nerd hole -- due to the Too Much Pie episode Hec described above, we have nowhere else to go. Hec is exhausted from cleanup and has banished us both from the front bedroom, and Emmett is collapsed on the living room couch because his room smells extremely unpleasant and needs a full day to air out. The kitchen is right next to the living room, with a doorway but no door. The coffee house around the corner doesn't open for another 45 minutes, and I can't even make coffee here because the noise of the machine will wake Emmett up.

So, we're hiding. Matilda is happily talking to herself and me, trying to feed me fridge magnets and practicing her newest delights: saying "Oooo-WOW" and patting various objects (right now, my face and a fridge magnet of Twiggy) and saying "Baby." I don't know how we're going to last until 8.

brillig

I dropped Hubby off in front of Old Navy on my way to work. He's after some jeans and maybe the free mp3 player they're offereing. Madman. But he's got his back brace, his cane, and his TENS unit on his back. I told him he's not allowed to use the TENS to taser the competition.

Our wings are not tired.

I told him he's not allowed to use the TENS to taser the competition.

Spoil sport, alls fair.

DH is cleaning the house. I went to the office. No one is here, and there were no phone messages. I guess I should get something done, after coffee and leftovers.
