Jars, I'd say you're doing a helluva job on a traditional Thanksgiving. Now you just need to drop the turkey when you're taking it out of the oven and eat with someone who has diametrically opposed political views.
The turkey breast is in the oven; the cornbread dressing and butternut squash casserole are ready for baking; the roll dough is rising; and the pole beans on are the stove.
No matter how ugly the pie, a homemade pie will taste much better than a storebought one. You can always cut the pie in the kitchen.
A "my sister and technology" update:
My sister got a new printer and kept telling me she was getting an error message and it wouldn't print. I kept asking if she'd checked all the connections. It turns out it had never been connected to the computer.
I am, as always, thankful for the wisdom, warmth, caring and grammatical obsessiveness I have found here. I hope you all have much to be thankful for in the coming year.
Gloomcookie come join us here! We have turkey and we and Guitar Hero and I just purchased Rock Band. Also we don't mind about the sick.
Heh. I'm envisioning the chaos at the ND/KT household, and giggling.
My pie is in the oven. My green beans are waiting for the oven to be ready. Plei is supposedly picking me up in two hours. I have a headache (from the alcohol last night, or the sleeping too much? Who knows?) but just took some meds.
I have Law and Order, Top Model, and a bunch of fun library books. This is not half bad.
However, that can of french's fried onions that is waiting to go on top fo the green beans when they're more done?? It's very very tempting.
Also, am trying to figure otu what to eat now, so that I am ready for turkey at 5pm or 6pm....but not staaaaaarving before then. Hrm.
Dammit.
We just discovered that our landlord has our house on the market. We knew she was considering listing it, but I'd asked the property manager to tell us if she did so. So I'm angry at him for not telling us, and stressed because this means there's a good chance we'll have to move when our lease is up this spring, and I just don't want that. Too much expense, too much hassle, and our current location is just so great that I'd hoped we wouldn't have to move until we're at a point of being ready to buy.
Dammit. I feel like we never, ever are going to catch a break on the housing/finance/logistics side of life.
ND, you are very sweet to offer. GF is currently napping and not feeling so hot, so most likely we're going to hang around the house. It's nice to know we could go somewhere, though!
Just came back from eating at a local buffet. No cooking, no dishes, as much of what we wanted to eat, a splendid thing all around. Now I'm contemplating a nap versus computer games, while I make sure my route to the bathroom is clear, because yesterday's gastric adventures have held on for extra innings.
happy t day ! thanks for being here everyone
As am I. I'm hoping to have room for the pie. Ugh, I gotta be at work by 8:00 am tomorrow. Not even 12 hrs away and I still don't wanna. It's the food and the alcohol. Still
let it be known, KT & ND made an excellent spread. KTs turkey smelled great, and tasted better. I'm waiting to make room for thirds. Mmmmmm.
