Compassionately intolerant

raggedy pie

Band name! But what genre? Folk?

I'm about to take a nap! woot.

And then attend a dinner where, for the first time in yonks, I don't have to cook anything. I'm the decorating committee...which will consist of picking up pretty leaves on my walk there and then artfully arranging them around pillar candles.

Sweet lack of responsibility. Then, when I get home, I'm having Beverly's bath. Or at least my version of it. (Bless you and yours this year Beverly)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hobble, hobble, Tep.

I prefer to think of it as a jaunty gait.

Is your mom making tofurkey?

She is, but since we're going to a carnivorous cousin's house, she's bringing her own tofurkey and I get to eat real gobbler. And all the carbs in the world. And pie. Pie pie pie pie pie.

And I have to get in the shower right about now.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Gronkly morning, Bitches. I am thankful for y'all.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I'm thankful that my mom's cancer is in remission. Also, I'm thankful for my new job, that Annabel is happy, healthy, and doing well in preschool, and that I'm still writing and still learning new things.

Mmm, pie. I'm about to make some right now, myself.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Well, GF woke up with a terrible sore throat and her dad can't be around sickies so we're spending T'giving in our dirty, tar-smelling house (bathroom remodel in progress) with no turkey. On the plus side, also no relatives and much Wii!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gris, I hope you've figured out your BRG, and I wish you much luck in executing it today.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Timelies. My responsibilities for Thanksgiving this year are pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, salad, and cleaning up the family room. (I'm usually also responsible for the vegetarian entree and either the green vegetable or the sweet potatoes, but since I'm not feeling great this year, my mom's doing those.) Pie is done, potatoes are boiling, and I haven't started the salad yet. But that'll only take a few minutes, anyway. Also, I thought I cleaned the family room, but apparently it's still a mess. So I need to find other things there to clean.

(I've tried Tofurky, but I'm generally happier with making my own entree. Usually, I make stuffed squash, but this year, my mom's making a dish with seitan and shiitake mushrooms.)

Our wings are not tired.

Mmmmm, this place smells like pie!

I don't know how it will taste, but the turkey is the prettiest one evah. The air roaster thingy works great. 2 big pans of stuffing. One with sausage (uck) and the other with cranberries and walnuts. Savory sweet potatoes roasting in the oven. Stuffed peppers ready to go. Things are reasonably organized. Others are bringing salad and beans and lots of pie!

Health ~ma to GC's GF, Anne, and any others that need it.

I would surely join in on the nibbling of Vortex, um her raggedy pie too.

Wow Beverly, I de-stressed a bit just reading about your lovely day.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Pretty traditional thanksgiving. Instead of making "healthy" recipes this year, I'm doing the classic Lipow basting of butter rum and honey. Also, we have bunch of people who hate green bean casserole (?); so simple buttered green beans. What the hell. Blanch them, drain them, put them back in pot with butter, garlic and dill. Not objecting to anything that saves labor.
