Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad the pie was recoverable, Vortex.

I just realized I might not have pie today. Huh.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Huh. I guess I should start the pie.

Our wings are not tired

Once again, I say Pie, yummmm. Who cares how it looks.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Vortex, Laura is wise:

funky crust means you didn't get store bought pie.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone who's celebrating! I'm running in to agree with others that Bitches is people and a "place" I'm grateful for.

Jess, so many good wishes for your grandfather.

Happy belated Sparky birthday! And anyone else's I've missed, a year of good things to you!

Things I'm grateful for this year: My mom's well taken care of, comfortable, and content. DH's surgery, while horrific in the first 24 hours of recovery, seems as though it will have improved his quality of life significantly. I sidestepped my own health scare this year. And after weeks of worry and near-frantic caretaking, I have my house to myself, with no one here but the cat. I plan to watch dvds, read fic, take a long solitary bath by candlelight with my choice of music (uncriticised by the *men* I live with) playing softly in the background, and when I'm ready I'll grill my chicken breast with rosemary, garlic and ginger, and have it with steamed broc served with coarse sea salt, and steamed rice, followed by sweet potato sauteed in butter with dill and ginger for dessert. And I'll raise my glass and wish us all well and happy.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'd eat your lopsided, raggedy pie, Vortex.

that sounds dirty :)

I'm sure it will taste fine, I'm just annoyed that my fancy pie won't be so fancy

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Beverly, the house to oneself thing sounds delightful and much needed.

As for me, I am thankful that my stepfather survived his ruptured appendix/drug-resistant staph infection. VERY thankful. I am thankful to be back in my hometown. I am thankful to have a job where I am valued and I have a chance to grow.

I am also thankful for this board and the friendships I have gained because of it.

Thanksgiving today is being spent at home, coddling myself through a nasty cold. I will be getting my Thanksgiving feast, however, thanks to the fact that Mom lives nearby AND is a fantastic cook.

Gobble gobble, my Buffistas! Try not to OD on turkey. (Save room for pie.)

As always, I'm incredibly thankful for all of you.

I'm also thankful that all I have to bring to dinner is wine and that I don't have to cook anything.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hobble, hobble, Tep. Is your mom making tofurkey?

that sounds dirty :)

I certainly hope so.

Compassionately intolerant

raggedy pie

Band name! But what genre? Folk?

I'm about to take a nap! woot.

And then attend a dinner where, for the first time in yonks, I don't have to cook anything. I'm the decorating committee...which will consist of picking up pretty leaves on my walk there and then artfully arranging them around pillar candles.

Sweet lack of responsibility. Then, when I get home, I'm having Beverly's bath. Or at least my version of it. (Bless you and yours this year Beverly)

Hobble, hobble, Tep.

I prefer to think of it as a jaunty gait.

Is your mom making tofurkey?

She is, but since we're going to a carnivorous cousin's house, she's bringing her own tofurkey and I get to eat real gobbler. And all the carbs in the world. And pie. Pie pie pie pie pie.

And I have to get in the shower right about now.
