I use "effect" as a verb all the time. (Properly, that is.) (I probably didn't need to explain that, but I felt that I should.)

Thrive to spite them
The Crappiest Paper is done. It's printed. It was supposed to be a 1000 word, 5 page paper and it's 1000 words, but the actual paper is only three pages. The cover sheet and references make it 5. The only way to make it 5 actual pages I'd need 600+ more words and that's not happening.
Now I'll have 1 1/2 hours to cram for my test.
