Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I hate snooze! GF loves it. I am totally not a morning person and want to sleep until the very last moment, which is why when I control the clock, I just set it for that very last moment and get up. You can't get any kind of good sleep during those snooze cycles! Then I get up and feed the cats, brush my teeth, and hit the shower. Ugh. I hate mornings!!!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

In our dorm room, we had a set of stacked bunks plus a single bed, despite the fact there were only two of us. We never went to the trouble of breaking down the bunks and getting rid of one of them--the lower one was great for laying out mulit-page papers or coordinating one's outfit, or laying out pattern pieces to cut, or extra seating for those early morning seances (what?). So roomie had the single and I had the top bunk. For which there was no ladder, but it was okay, because I'd go over the foot, step onto the dresser and from there to the desk, then to the chair and onto the floor.

I had a Very Loud windup alarm with actual bells on top--it sounded like a fire alarm--which I put all.the.way.across.the.room, knowing I'd just roll over and slap it off, or pitch it against the wall, if it were in arm's reach. I hollered at Roomie for turning off my alarm, and then she told me she'd awoken when it went off, watched me navigate the getting-down process, cross the room, turn off the alarm, climb back up into bed and go directly back to sleep. I have no memory of any of it.

I still sleep hard. I delay going to bed till I'm near-comatose because if I lie down before then I'll stare at the ceiling and get progressively too angry to sleep. But once I'm asleep I'm out. Till I wake up, completely, and unable to stay in bed. Once in a great while I'll surface and doze off again, but it's rare.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My brother was on house arrest for six months once. My brother is a DEEP sleeper. Seriously deep. His house arrest was basically accomplished by a phone line--no ankle bracelet but he would get random calls from the sheriff's department's computer and he would HAVE to answer the calls, day or night. In order to insure he woke up to answer the phone, my dad installed an industrial ringer on our telephone. It was fucking awful and would wake the entire house--possibly the entire block.

How are you and the fam feeling today, Cash? Better, I hope?

Much, better, thanks, Bev. Owen's nearly lost his voice and Liv was up and down all of last night but the worst of the snot monster seems to have passed.

They are still playing and keeping me busy. In fact, I found out that our new DVR/TV remote can be put back together in working condition after a fall of about 10 feet from the top of the staircase to the wood floors below.

K-Bug is offically on her way home.

Grandpa had reserved the exit row for the three of them, but since K-Bug isn't 18, she can't sit there. She is in the last row, but has a window. She was VERY ok with this change.

I love the online flight updates. I knew her flight was delayed before they announced it at the gate.

Poor K-Bug!

How did the hotel situation end up?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have internet at the new house, yay! I also have phone and cable, but no phone or tv to plug into them over here. So it goes.

I'm not a snooze button hitter. When I have to get up, I get up, and when I don't, I sleep through the alarm.
