Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Pureed! And thanks for saying it sounds good, loves. Cooking is one of my favorite things lately--a true break from being in my head or on stage. I made pan-seared salmon with fresh tomato-basil relish and orzo with olive oil on Sunday night and Polynesian pineapple chicken (stir fry) and brown rice last night. Tonight chilled tomato-cucumber soup and honey pecan chicken...and I'm thinking maybe some new potatoes on the side.
They're all pretty simple recipes from a Weight Watchers
Make it in Minutes
book. They lie about the "minutes" thing, though. Unless they mean 60-90 minutes. I'm a really slow prepper, though, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.
Oh, Kristin! Will you marry me? We can get married here in MA!
I love to cook too, but just don't have a second of free time, or the energy these days.
Oh, Kristin! Will you marry me? We can get married here in MA!
Oo, you're right! But...then I'd have to move back to MA. It's chilly there. Maybe we can just have a long engagement?
I don't really have the free time, but I've made this my "me" time, if that makes sense, between school and homework.
I love cooking too, but these days I try to cook things that pass the toddler test, so nothing too fancy. Occasionally I get around to making a sauce for DH & me.
Sorry, vw, unless my night gets ugly I plan on being in bed by then, hopefully I'll be asleep too.
{{{Beverly}}} Good luck with things with your mom.
Oh crap, Beverly, I just caught up. {{{Beverly}}} Lots of ~ma to you.
pass the toddler test
Ah yes. That does make a huge difference. My friend Mer says that cooking for toddlers is like cooking for frat boys. She has two (toddlers, not frat boys).
but I've made this my "me" time, if that makes sense, between school and homework.
That makes total sense. I feel like I'm barely home these days. I have my "me" time in the morning, usually. I get up early to make sure I get it. But that seems like a silly time to do major cooking, although, it's not a bad idea. By the time I get home in the evenings, though, I barely have energy to walk Toto and do the MUST do things. I haven't even been watching television at all. And I'm not complaining. I'm just stating facts. I'm really enjoying this semester--more than any semester so far. It's fun, but some things have just gone by the wayside so I can focus on school and tutoring.
Thanks, Burrell! Oh, and did you see my comment to you about what things I learned by doing the annotated bibliography I was bitching so much about?
Oh, Beverly, I don't know how I missed that. I read your post! Or, at least I thought I did. I'm sorry, love. I hope things calm down and you get some rest.
I really must go out and buy a blender.
Omnis, GO YOU with the paid off car! Man, I wish I had half your financial discipline.
