Totally not a brat Aims. I used to have a friend who justified every hurtful and selfish thing with "My dad died!" It's like the song says, "Everybody hurts sometime." doesn't excuse you from being a dick. Y'all will have a good time with Joe's dad, and because you are awesome parents Em will be fine.
Remember yesterday when you were pissy that your mom was just there and felt badly about it? I think that was a premonition.
vw, I leave Sunday.
talk about old fashioned. The music director for A Christmas Carol just dumped off a bunch of stuff to be duplicated. Imagine if you will a time when you would set up a boom box next to your piano and hit record. Imagine if you will 5 cassettes with all the songs in them, one for each vocal part. Now imagine connecting an old cassette deck to a brand new shiny computer system to make CD's of those recordings. Ahhhh the nostalgia. Maybe next year he'll cut vinyl so I can connect the turn table

I have ABBA and a cocktail.
All is looking better.
I think I need these [link]
Still a fan of the Beatle boot, too [link]
I know this will be hard if you host -- maybe even harder than having 20 people over when you were 10 months pregnant --
Hey! That was an awesome Thanksgiving. I even saw bits of family later, I was so relaxed.
Crap, I think I am supposed to be figuring things out for Thanksgiving here. Um, I should do that.
{{{Aimée}}} Everyone else got there first, and everyone else is wise, so I'm just going to point upthread and nod. And I'm glad Joe's dad is there for you guys.
And, um, the entire state of California will leave the light on for you.
The ~ma, it is powerful. Today's job interview went swimmingly, and when I got back yesterday's place called to say they'll be emailing me an offer package by Monday.
But now I really like the today people too!
This is approximately 20 billion times better than the place that made me want to throw up and the place that didn't even want me after the person they wanted turned out to be made of fail.
I could really use some take-it-the-right-way ~ma. I just sent a long letter to one of the Board members. It's a very nice letter, but it wasn't without controversy.
She asked us to email her about how we were feeling, and I mostly feel that they made the right choice, but I'm nervous as hell about taking that step.
To put things in perspective, though, she's gotten a crapload of really nasty letters, so mine will probably be a lot nicer to read. I hope.
t fret
ETA: WOOT! Go JZ!
My mom and I have decided to pick up some ready-made feastage from Whole Foods and go on a picnic, if the weather's nice, and if the weather doesn't co-operate we will eat at their house, but either way it will not be a Big Deal. I got a pretty good deal in the family lottery.
