Whoa! I... I think I'm having a thought. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a thought. Now I'm having a plan. Now I'm having a wiggins.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Going to Joe's Dad's! That'll be lovely.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

ding ding ding

Whoo! What do I win?

Also, just wanted to say additionally, I don't think you're a brat for being upset. That's upsetting behavior. It's hard.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Is it possible for you to have Thanksgiving at your place with your mother helping out with some of the food purchases, so that the cost isn't all on you? Maybe a change of venue will make it easier on your mother this year.

I offered to host a couple of weeks ago and she said that she needed the activity of cooking to help distract her from grandma's absence. She declared herself going to her cabin for the entire weekend so she can "deal with this".

Thank you guys so much. Truly. I know I've been Mopey McDownster more often than not the past few months, but thank you guys for hanging with me and not asking me to get banned or MARCIE-ing me.

Oops, look at that. I talked about the MARCIE.

Fuck. Did it again.

Now I have to talk about Fight Club.

Shit.

No wonder no one told me who really shot Kennedy.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Well, at least I am fairly sure that it will bug you more than Em. I have big general memories of thanksgiving- with snapshot memories of specific things that happened. and the reasons that thanksgiving is my favorite holiday is because I have such strong memories of the good stuff. any of the bad stuff is unimportant - just people being people.

You are 100% correct, ma'am. It totally bothers me more.

OTOH, some things to be thankful about:

* No getting up at the ass crack of dawn to shove bread crumbs up dead turkey's butt.

* No worrying about if everyone has enough food.

* No peeling 20 lbs of potatoes.

* No running to grocery store 17 times for 4 things I forgot.

* NO DISHES.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Not a brat.

My mother put the Drama Que in Drama Queen. I come by it honestly. On the phone just now she told me and I said, "Oh. Ok. Fine." We'll go to Joe's dad's house and hang with them and it'll be fine.

Which reminds me. When Sophia mentioned her Drama House thanksgiving, I totally thought she was talking about family at first. Just me?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I can see not wanting to have the same traditional Thanksgiving this year, but not even wanting to spend the holiday with all of you your first year back there is incredibly selfish, imho.

Yeah, I don't even know if my dad's going with her.

And Beth - you are right on. If my Grandmother knew what my mother was doing, Grandma'd pop her in the head.
