Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Color me gobsmacked - one of our estimators just quit. Packed up his stuff, handed in a letter, and walked out.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'd love to see Jilli's take on the TAR goths as a GCS topic. Assuming she has one, of course.

FTR, "oh my goth" aside, they're to all appearances smart, perky, and generally decent people, and so far are holding their own in the race. Which won't strike anyone here as particularly noteworthy, but I was so relieved when it became apparent that they weren't going to be the butt of season-long joke.

(Though I also started thinking about the amount of sleep they might be losing just getting ready to start each leg, then I thought about Jilli on the race and what that would entail, and then I went "Oh my god! She'd be like a goth Amelia Peabody!", and then I just squeed.)

The status is NOT quo.

"Oh my god! She'd be like a goth Amelia Peabody!", and then I just squeed.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

The awesomeness of that concept cannot be expressed.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

JZ, all my digits are crossed for you (except the 2 that I'm using to type).

sumi, did you see your birthday wishes from yester-evening?

On this season of The Amazing Race, there is a team of dating goths

The Boy referred to them as "punk-rockers," and I had to correct him. When he disagreed, I busted out the Lady of the Manners trump card.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The Mall of America is having a big three day appliance/computer/anything you plug in recycling event this weekend.

Humor blogger/writer James Lileks has a short video entry up on Minnesota Buzz. [link]

Worth a look.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, I got vampires on Supernatural. (But I knew that was happening.)

My friend M. sent me a signed copy of Tim Gunn's book and when I spoke to her she told me she's expecting - so I got to hear some good news. Always nice.

Now, if only I could have slept for 5 or 6 more hours.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hooray for the good interview yesterday and crossed fingers for today, JZ!

Librarian Warlord

Good luck, JZ!

I have been calling pest control companies to come and get rid of the crickets. I have no idea what an exterminator costs, and none of the companies will tell me. Does the hivemind know how many hundreds of dollars this will cost me?

In other news, we have our Thanksgiving here today. I'm calling it "Practice Thanksgiving" and have already warned the Director not to expect anything from me at the Dept Heads meeting this afternoon.

information libertarian

We had exterminators in for roaches and it was $75 for a one-time and $125 if we wanted them to come back every 3 months for some unspecified period.

We have cave crickets in the basement, too, but since all we do there is store stuff and do laundry, they don't worry me too much.
