Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

According to this bottle of ruby grapefruit Juice Squeeze, it's not a significant source of Vitamin A or Vitamin C.

From the name it doesn't sound like a significant source of juice either.

How is that possible? It seems like anything that's ever been waved vaguely in the direction of some fruit gets to claim, like, 2100% RDA of Vitamin C.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

FACT: Fruit juice has as many calories and as much sugar as Coke.

Not the same kind of sugar, though. And far fewer chemicals.

Also: I get paid twice a month now! I'm off to the neighboring town to deposit my check. Hooray, paycheck day! Also, hooray-in-advance for direct deposit, which will mean not having to do this anymore.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

From the name it doesn't sound like a significant source of juice either.

It contains 70% fruit juice.

How is that possible? It seems like anything that's ever been waved vaguely in the direction of some fruit gets to claim, like, 2100% RDA of Vitamin C.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that myself.

P-C, probably marginally better in that (a) it does contain trace amounts of vitamins and whatnot, which is more than Coke does, and (b) it has no HFCS, which is a suspected factor in increasing obesity and diabetes rates in the US.

But if you're looking for seriously healthier, you're probably better off having a piece of actual fruit and a bottle of fizzy water.

Heh. Thanks. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't completely crazy to think fruit juice was better than Coke. I've tried to cut back on the amount of soda I drink, replacing it with milk and fruit juice/lemonade and such instead. I won't give it up completely, but I have to feel healthier somehow!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't completely crazy to think fruit juice was better than Coke.

Coke has HFCS and there's also some indications that HFCS+high carbonation are super-bad for you. So no, not crazy at all.

Lately I've been mixing a bit of 100% fruit juice with a lot of fizzy water, and it is muy tasty.

I love the idea of fizzy water, but carbonation and SuziQ are non-mixy things. Blast.

Hey, Aims, what ever happened with that tenant that refused to let your people in without something like 30 days notice?

Thrive to spite them

Unfortunately a lot of fruit juices have HFCS in them as well and you have to watch out for that.

I'm having a semi shitty day. There's some situation that I'm not privy to that needs to be resolved and for whatever reason no one in my office has been phoning the people invovled, there was some delay on our end and instead of saying that they've just been waiting until it's resolved to call these people.

Except these people have been calling almost every day and getting really mad and make threats about what they are going to do and usually when they call the people who need to talk to them are out of the office or in a meeting. It sounds like I've been blowing them off but I'm not.

Today someone else called from the company and started yelling at me and accusing me of giving them the run around and I tried to explain we had a power outage and people were dealing with that, but the guy kept yelling and telling me he woud stay on hold but he wouldn't hang up and threatening to get a lawyer to call if he did hang up. Finally I went and got my Big Boss who wasn't happy about being interupted and just wanted me to tell this guy to hang up, but he would take that. Finally she talked to him and it's resolved.

I feel like if someone on our end had returned one of these phone calls a few days ago to explain the delay things wouldn't have escalated. But, no one else was dealing with these phone calls. Just me. They called 3 times yesterday and were almost yelling. It's a very upsetting position to be put in. And I've been trying to be as honest as possible, without being too honest but all that did was have the company stop just short of calling me a liar.
