Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Kids are a-holes.

(not always, not innately, but they have a capacity for a-hole-ness that can be breathtaking)

You'll raise her up right, Erin.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I had one kid who totally manned up (he's a guy, not being genderist) and talked to me and was good, but the other two...man, I just wanted to smack 'em like they were villans on Buffy.

The status is NOT quo.

Ack. The entire faculty just got a cryptic email from random colleague to "Come out to say 'hi'" at a local restuarant to Current Head of School (CHoS), who has not actually been at school since the announcement that she wasn't being asked on to the final round of interviews.

On the one hand? I so don't want to deal with the stress. Plus, ND is leaving for Orlando tonight, and it would have been nice to have time for dinner with him.

On the other hand, I have a feeling that I will gain a lot of political knowledge about WTF is going on, not to mention show some level of support to CHoS, who is a great person.

I'm going. Not sure how I feel about it, but I'm going.

Knowledge is power, ignorance is...dangerous.

Go power, choose power, my coastal teacher-sister.

A quick scan of the nearby shops reveals no potential carry-on/slash around town bag that I can schlep around New York Friday that will (a) hold all my conference gear, a change of shirt, undies, makeup and tooth brush for ON at Trudy's and (b) not look stupid AND cost over $50.

I'm carrying my beat-up briefcase. Warning, geekteacher alert. I am too stressed to care.

I wish! The closest I imagine I'll get to luggage porn this weekend it getting frustrated with someone and shoving my bag up their ass.

Can I get wear PJ's around NY all weekend? Please? Between bag and jacket, I'm seriously thinking about calling off my all-nighter with Trudy and just catching dinner and heading back to the hotel. It means I will leave my hotel room at 7 a.m. on Friday and not be able to return to my hotel room till about 11 p.m. Sat. night, and this is kinda making me nuts.

This should be interesting Kristin! The CHoS has nothing to gain from towing the party line. So - hmmm. Can't wait to hear. can't imagine what that would be like over here.

Fudgesticks

Checked my work e-mail to find out that all the work I did today is now toast and instead of being on schedule, I'm now at least a day behind. Corporate had entered 1 person's hourly rate as $336.54 instead of $33.66, and the project manager didn't catch the error. So, now I need to fix this so we don't overbill our client by a good $58k.

At least I get paid OT and I can do it from home.
