I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

GC, I also recommend Erin McKeown for people who would like Erin McKeown.

Connie, I'm sorry about your cat.

Gris, I agree with Kristin.

Happy Juliana Day!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oooh, look at megan, giving Fay a secret weapon for French parental devastation. Between that and the fact that Tep and Nora not only had a cross-post, but a cross-pssst, I am utterly bewitched by the Buffistas this morning.

Happy New Year, juliana (and continued blessings on the medical team who kept you whole and lovely)!

Happy Birthday, ChiKat!

And, eep! I made it to the second interview stage with the big muckety-muck at the multicampus research institute at Mission Bay. Friday at 1:30. I'm also playing email-tag with an HR staffer at a downtown architecture firm about a second interview there, for tomorrow or Friday. If I blow both these interviews, I'm going to be one sad little toaster.

And, because it deserves a separate message, connie and DH, I'm so sorry about your dear boy. It sounds like he had a long and magnificent run and his passing was as peaceful and loving as any cat could ask for.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The other Wii game that's coming out before Xmas that I'm looking forward to is Raving Rabbids 2.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

So is there anyone else who rarely experiences chemistry on a first date?

Almost all of my relationships (including my current one, which seems to have some staying power) started out as friendship.

I realize that's not the same thing as a first date, but what I mean is -- there was no romantic/physical chemistry there at first, which is why we were friends and not immediate passionate sexy sexy lovers.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Raving Rabbids 2.

I first read that as "Raving Rabbis 2."

Very rarely, and when it happened I deeply distrusted it, with good reason. The one person with whom I've ever had immediate, overwhelming, knee-knocking chemistry turned out to be epically bad for me (in the short run, anyway; almost a decade out, I'm at peace with it and with him, but when it was all fresh and new it wrecked me).

Hec is the result of an unspoken crush turned comfortable friend turned sparkage turned agreeable friendly sex turned love. It's not the path I would have predicted for myself back in the days of Chemistry Boy, but it's worked out beautifully.

Trust my rage

I'm having a niece! So excited!

I'm with JZ wrt the sparks. Joe and I had sparks but our relationship was complicated in the beginning and he's the only spark guy that didn't totally mess me up. I often compare the spark boys to drugs.

The status is NOT quo.

I felt crazy chemistry with ND from the first time I met him, but I shoved it away into a corner of my mind until much later when a relationship was actually possible.

That spark was definitely there from the start, but he's one of the only people I've ended up with that way. Most of the boys and girls that made me go all weak-kneed ended up being extremely bad for me.
