Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

My work mystery is solved. The bonus was from one of the corporate folks that I spoke with a couple of weeks ago when he was here to do the annual review of the contract I work on. It was for "superior customer service".

Woot.

I mean, I was "woot" before, I just didn't know why.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Yay for meaningful woot!

I was so worried this was going to be like the accidental bonus me and a lot of other hourlies got at the beginning of the year that I was afraid to mention it... they made us give it back!

Yay, Suzi! That's fabulous!

Well, shit. I picked up 10 prescriptions today, and this pharmacy is really small and wonderful. I've never had an error with them before. But, I'm missing one of my meds. And it's a controlled substance--one that I've been taking for five years and more than a little dependent on. I have none. And the pharmacy is closed. And since it's a controlled substance, I have no idea what they're going to do when I report that it wasn't in the bag.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Yikes, vw! I would think they'd be able to refer it to another pharmacy if it's an immediately needed med.

I've pretty much given up on ever paying less than $100 for a swimsuit anymore. That one is lovely, vw.

Yay, Suzi!

Pretty dresses.

My day was filled with many people coming in and out of the house, installing and delivering large items (dishwasher and a bedroom suit). I've also got a cleaning lady lined up to help me get rid of the mess from the final unpacking next week.

I also got to shop for bath mats/rugs, new towels and shower curtains. My bathrooms will now match. Yay for Kohls and their cheap towels.

We have a babysitter coming in an hour. She's the daughter of the guy who did our painting. I hope she works out. DH and I are taking a break for an adult evening out.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The fuck, Laga? That's awful.

And ugh, vw.

I wish, but it's a small local pharmacy. No one answers. I'm tempted to page my PCP, but I've already paged her once today about a refill. I hate bothering her. I think I'm gonna just try to get through tonight and deal with it tomorrow.

Yeah. Now that you mention it, I think my current swimsuit was about $100. Well, we'll see. I probably shouldn't order a swimsuit online since I've been losing weight and in between sizes, but I don't know where to go to try one on right now.

Good luck with all the house stuff, Cashmere!

not your mom's socks.

oh shit vw - medicine~ma.

and yay for adultevening/cleaninglady/matching towels cashmere!

a quick update for those who are keeping score of MassiveCorporateUglies-episode one:so you're the new guy, huh?: DH has been told a couple of times that he should (though no guarantees) be ok; but no one knows a thing for sure. There is a big department meeting on Monday and a Throughout-the-Universe,-in-All-Perpetuity meeting on Friday, after which, if we're lucky, we will know something for sure, for now. In the meantime, I have a massive 'so what have you done for us lately' meeting on Monday of my own in Baltimore and we're switching Iris to a new school on Tuesday because we learned too late about a huge teacher/director problem at her current preschool... where everyone is leaving like rats from a ship.

I swear, if we make it through all this, we will be in the exact same situation we were in four weeks ago, but I will be so glad that we made it through that I will feel like we won the lottery. Which would be great, if I could, you know, shop off of it.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I got my swimsuit at Catherine's Plus Sizes for $40 in June.

VW, part of your PCP's job is to be there to be bothered by people with medical issues. I would page her ASAP, if only to give more credence to your claim with the pharmacy.

Good points, Anne.

I haven't used Library Thing myself, but I just read this on my flist and thought I'd share since I know a lot of you do. It's about a site that purports to be similar but uses sleazy tactics with your e-mail contacts [link]

Well, I can't say that my desk is organized yet, but I do now have things with which to organize... that's progress, right? OK, I have to make some phone calls now, and then I work on this until it's time for SGA.

ETA: Phone calls done and sucessfully! I pat me on the back. Now for the filing and throwing away.
