Miss Fay, you're one of the least tedious whiners I've ever known
Very much this. I'm so sorry about the frustration, Fay. I can really sympathize with the feeling of failure when a parent just doesn't get you or your teaching, and all I can say is that I'm quite certain that this is the
parent's
issue, and not yours. Silver lining? If the little one is to be moved to your colleague's classroom, at least you will no longer have to deal with delusional parent-man. {{{Fay}}} regardless. Everything that I have read about your teaching leads me to believe that you are amazing, a true gift to the students. Try not to let this get you down too much, okay?
And good luck with the bloke!
Stephanie, I'm so sorry about the frustration with your car. I hope it works out soon.
Also ~ma to Hil and to vw. Hil, for what it's worth, I think you do need to lay out your medical condition to the prof in this instance. It sucks, but it's important.
What ita said, or was that Vortex?
:P
I think I need some radical acceptance practice myself. I'm currently of the "lie to myself" school of getting by, and it's wearing thin.
Good luck with man. Fay! You're a lovely woman to look at, and lovely one with the words.
I'm awful with the names of krav students. But I've found teaching something physical engages me completely differently from communicating or presenting something primarily verbal, so I need different tricks. And I make sure to explain to just about everyone I'm going to forget their names more often than I'll remember them for a week or two.
The way the classes are scheduled people come in and out of any one class, so there are people who remember that I taught them that I'd probably swear in court I'd never seen before. I'm the only one of me (okay, sometimes as many as three teach one class), and there are a gazillion of them.

It's unfair, and shouldn't be legally required, right? But that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it though. Appeal to his sympathetic style.
I just discovered work is having a fund raising raffle and the prize is a HD Tivo. I know I'm going to be spending too much money on raffle tickets. I mean, I have a dvr and it's nice but! TIVO!
What's the difference between a DVR and TIVO? I thought that they were the same thing, only TIVO is a brand name for a DVR.
signed,
Has no TIVO, no DVR, and can't be arsed to even set the VCR
TIVO is a brand name for a DVR
Yes, but your standard issue generic cable company DVR has very limited features and can only download TV. Tivo has access to other content (video podcasts, Amazon Unbox movies, etc), and has a much more powerful user interface.

Basically, but the way they work can be different. I preferred my DVR to the Tivo I have now. One example why is that I could do split screen with my DVR (i.e., look at the guide or programs I had saved) while watching a show. TiVo pauses your program goes to another screen. There's a lot more clicking through menus with the Tivo.
