Getting to bed now.
Erm. If anyone has my number and wouldn't mind calling me at 9 or 9:15 to make sure I'm awake, it would be very much appreciated. (I've got two alarms set. But, just in case.)
t edit: nevermind. I'm awake. Thanks anyway.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Erm. If anyone has my number and wouldn't mind calling me at 9 or 9:15 to make sure I'm awake, it would be very much appreciated. (I've got two alarms set. But, just in case.)Once in a conversation I wondered to a friend of mine what type of alarm clock hearing-impaired people use. They actually have sonic alarm clocks. Yeah they're about 50 bucks but you might find it worth the money.
Yeah, I've seen the various sorts of alarm clocks for deaf people. The kind with flashing lights, and the kind with vibrating plates that make your bed shake.
Right, now, though, what I really need is for this city's doctors to actually have something resembling reasonable schedules, so that I can go and get seen and get meds and quit feeling this ick.
As someone with sleep disorders I feel your pain, much sleep~ma to you.
The annoying thing about "you" is the potential for confusion between singular and plural.
There's generally a hefty lack of differing forms within Chinese to mark tense or plurals and such like, but one interesting feature is that in the Beijing area they have differing forms of the 1st person plural to distinguish as to whether the addressee is included.
BigD - I am **horrible** at mornings. Once awake and in the shower, all is fine. But I've slept thru EARTHQUAKES. If I don't want to wake up, it's really tough to get me up. In aid to wake me up, I have an ever shifting items to keep me confused, which is what wakes me up best. The list includes:
* a timer light switch to the overhead light
* next to my bed, a dual alarm clock (cd & buzzer) with the clock about 30 minutes ahead of time, and the two alarms timed, I don't know, just to keep me from doing the math and thinking "I got a few more minutes"
* across the room, an iHome dual alarm set to buzz and iPod. this clock is set to real time, and the iPod plays music really gentle like, and is the 1st alarm. The goal to pull me out of deep sleep gently
* an old alarm clock in the bathroom (next room over) with NPR on. Voices help wake me (sometimes)
* cell phone with several alarms (typically 3, sometimes more if I gotta get up early). I put it in different places, ones that require me to get OUT of bed. Doesn't always work. Often turn off phone and climb back into bed. Winters are tougher, I long for the warm bed and hide from the cool air. California has been better in that regard.
Getting to sleep, ya, tough. Once asleep, just as tough to get me up. Dunno what your sleep problems are, but sometimes its good to know, your not alone. Sleep well, and I hope ya wake up on time.
With that, I'm off to bed myself. I hear "Fight Club" saying "read more read more" and hopefully that will dull the brain some more so sleep can slip in.
Sláinte!
I'm awake!
My lifelong insomnia seems to be a bit better the past few months. Getting to sleep still is a very lengthy process, but I don't wake as easily by things as minor as a light going on in the other room. I can even fall asleep with the television on, which is a new thing. Total dark and quiet was always required. I had almost given up the hope to ever be a good sleeper.
Hee! Today is geek day in the homecoming ritual at Brendon's HS. Yesterday was mis-match. And me with no camera at home. Must bring it home from the office.
lemon fast:
Stupid move of the night. I set up my laptop to download something to enjoy today prior to going to bed, then turned off the lights, including the switch that powered my laptop. I figure it maybe ran for a half hour.

Hey, Laura! I really hope today is better.
