Oh, Stephanie, how terrifying! You're not a big meanie or anything for having been cranky--there's no way you could have expected that, given that he is young, and he is in good shape.
Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Don't call yourself a bad wife. Your reaction is totally normal
I agree, you are a good wife and possibly a crappy cardiologist.

Stephanie! Wow, that's scary. What everyone else said -- there's no way you could have guessed something like that, and I've got all fingers crossed it was completely minor.

Did they suggest heartburn/stomach stuff first? I'd be surprised if they didn't.
I'm not sure exactly what made them do the EKG. I didn't think to ask - perhaps it was his description of the pain? Normally, the Army medical system isvery, "Here's some motrin - that should fix it" so I'm a bit surprised that they actually checked this.

Thanks, this made me laugh!
he was having a heart ATTACK at the exact moment the infuckingcompetent cardiologist told Dad it was heartburn.
My dad just happens to be here - he arrived last night with Ellie - and he had a heart valve replaced about two years ago. He has a very low opinion of cardiologists after having received some similarly stupid, albeit less dangerous, opinions from cardiologists. My dad is with Joe and they are going to the hospital.
Oh, and a co-worker just shared with me that his BIL, who was 35, died of a heart attack 2.5 months ago. I'm not scared/upset, but what a stupid thing to tell someone.

I don't understand the Jackass Impulse to tell someone the Worst! Possible! Story! that you know about someone who had the same condition as their loved one. I'd bet every woman here who's been pregnant got horror stories about Pregnancy Gone Wrong. And I got more horror stories prior to my back surgery about someone's neighbor's second-cousin's babysitter's uncle who had back surgery and then Never! Walked! Again!, etc.
What the fuck are people thinking?
I suggest you think about my 65-year-old dad, who has blithely survived 5 heart attacks and raked leaves yesterday.
horror stories about [anything to do with hospitals]
oh sweet & fluffy lord yes - I think it's sort of like the laugh-reaction when someone is stressed? But I want some sort of spray or adhesive or at least a card that I can hand That Person, which says something along the lines of:

Shit, Stephanie! Vibing for Joe over here.
Maleficent is my favorite villian, and Aimee does a mean Maleficent! Which is only right.
Thanks, Zen and everyone!
I'm really proud of my costume. I made it all by myself. Even the hood/horns!!
