No, it's shiny! I like to meet new people. They've all got stories...

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'll go to Halloween Horror Nights if someone closes the movie theatre for me. Oh you also have to go through these lovely applications. My favorite so far is the guy who checked the "no" box next to "do you have reliable transportation to and from work?" I guess he wants to tear tickets from home.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'll give the bronchitis a pass, beth. I hope it gives you a pass.

Why is it so friggin' difficult to get my birth control pills filled correctly?

I've never had a problem before but last month my drugstore swapped generics on me with no notice.

My problem is that my prescription is for 21 days, but the insurance company fucking refuses to get that, yes, women do actually take pills for reasons other than birth control and have the right to NOT GET A PERIOD. My doctor gets to make the prescription, dammit, not the insurance company.

I hate them.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, my "Benny" credit card, which has the HSA money I set aside from my paycheck didn't go through. They've apparently suspended my account because I didn't get verification of a medical charge back to them fast enough. It's my money, fuckos!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Just got the results from my annual bloodwork. On the plus side, glucose & such are still fine (diabetes in the family). On the minus side, my cholesterol is 231, leading to a note from my doctor about remembering those exercise and eating changes we'd talked about, and I'm borderline anemic (she wants me to take iron supplements). Le sigh.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Just needed to be said again.

Hiya, Bitches! I have had a long week, so I decided this weekend needed to be sloungy.

Last week was the show and end of quarter, so I was late at school every day either doing the show or grading. Kristin, I feel your pain and am so glad I'm not an English teacher anymore. That grading is just endless. Mine is much better now and in fact, I got my quarter grades in on Friday even though they're not due until 3:30 tomorrow.

In addition to that stuff, I got a new batch of 6th graders on Monday (they cycle through every 7 weeks or so) and I get a new batch of 7th and 8th graders tomorrow (they cycle through every quarter). So, I've been getting stuff ready for New Students.

I laid about yesterday and didn't do squat. Today, I got my hair done. My hairdresser came here, so I made him soup for lunch.

Thanks for the shoulders, loves!

Okay, onwards. I have eight comments left...so close! Also, can someone explain why I have "The Best of White Lion" on iTunes?

Yeah, I've been thinking about alternative career paths a lot lately, I have to admit. I love teaching so much, but I really hate the English grading hours. This weekend wasn't about grading though--I'd be in the same boat no matter what I taught, I think.
