Sue, I adore your house colors! So bright and vibrant!

So ND's company got hired to hang speakers down Rodeo Drive and area to pipe Christmas music to all of the happy shoppers. Apparently the window display of the clothing store across from where they started had nothing in it under $10,000. There is a denim jacket for $200,000. There is not enough WTF in the world to describe how I feel about that.

Thanks! I do love my little house, even if it's usually much, much messier than that. I will love it more if it ever gets insulated and stops leaking heat through the roof.

Okay, now I'm coveting that coat!

WTF!! Are the threads platinum? And the buttons diamond?

It is mink-lined. I shit you not.

These mink must be gold-plated.

Not leaking heat will be good. I haven't thought to ask, Sue, but I remember when you bought it you were worried about being further out of the city. How are you liking the area now?

But! But? I can understand how couture can be expensive, taking into account labour-hours and cost of materials and such, but how many hours can have gone into a fricking denim jacket? Dear Jesus.

Oh my GOD.

Thanks to Facebook, I have discovered that my ten year HS class reunion is the same weekend as Thanksgiving. When I will be in town.

And while there are a couple of people I might like to see, uh...

"Hi, everyone! I've gained weight since high school AND I am completely unsuccessful! How YOU doin'?"

taking into account labour-hours

Maybe it was made by multinational CEOs and professional sports players. Those labor charges would add up quick.

Mink lined - the mink were specially bred, fed a diet of champagne and caviar, hand-groomed every day, the fur taken when each had reached the peak of its beauty. Denim from specially cultivated cotton, hand-picked, thread spun and then woven by hand by temple virgins.

Or just an obscene mark-up for a designer label.
