Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

Glad everyone's ok! I don't wanna know that that feels like.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It was actually kind of cool, especially in "okay that wasn't bad here, and it seems like that's true everywhere" hindsight.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Safety-wise, what are you supposed to do if an earthquake hits? For our area's normal natural disaster, the default is "run to the basement." I have a feeling that's not what you do in an earthquake.

Earthquakes! Crazy! I like living in a place where the earth itself isn't telling me I'm not welcome...

If you really like it, I can probably track it down and send it to you. It's been out on its own, doing its own thing for a while now. Oh, sweet 'tache.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You're supposed to get away from things that can fall over on you (wide open spaces are good for that) or under something that may help protect you--sturdy table, for instance.

We were taught doorframes in prep school, I swear, but everything I've seen since then says to avoid doors. Maybe it's just third world doors that are safe...

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

3rd World doorways are OK, it's just the rest of the house that you have to watch out for, like the ceiling and the floors and the walls and you know....
