Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

So they won't pay for it? They don't administer my pharma plan (that would be Medco). I end up paying over $200/month in meds for Noah because while some of his meds are over the counter, they are hand compounded for him since he weighs 13 lbs and not 130.

sigh.

Grr, Kat. Insurance makes me angry. Obviously my insurance woes are minuscule compared to yours. I hate the financial landslide you've been caught in purely because you happen to have children who need care. I just don't understand why taking good care of each other without bankrupting us is such a difficult concept.

sarameg, I'm arranging the bed in Noah's room for you. The problem is that you will be stuck in there with him.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not health insurance, but I did just hear a good positive insurance story: My uncle went to some insurance fair or something for fire victims, and got handed a fat check for immediate needs, AND they'll pay for temporary housing for two years, and that doesn't count what they'll get for the house, apparently. It's nice to have enough money to be able to get the good insurance, for when you need it. I think they had some supplemental plan.

Kristin, we're actually incredibly fortunate because Blue Cross is so huge and the coverage is really really good. . But Grace has Medi-Cal now to cover her care facility. Learning to be part of the system.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That's awesome, Jesse. I'm so glad.

Jesse, your uncle and his family have been in my thoughts. I'm glad the insurance is working out, but WOW. What an incredibly stressful situation.

Thanks, y'all. Everyone else's house is fine and everything, and my uncle and aunt are staying at my grandmother's for the time being. So that's all good.

I was just saying, the fire is bad enough, at least they don't have to deal with bureaucratic bullshit right now, you know?

Oh Jesse, I'm so glad to hear that. I've been worried about your uncle and his family. It's still an awful situation, but I'm so glad that they are getting the help they need.
