Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

I just measured mac. He has grown over half an inch in 3.5 months. That brings us to over 3 inches in the 9 months he has been here.

salsa, tomato and feta salad, tapioca - are made
lemon custard, green bean casserole - to be made next

I was wandering around today with a ferocious headache.

I only realized an hour ago it was because I hadn't eaten anything today. Stupid.

Went down to Hampden and bought a book, then got a cheap solar shower that I'm not sure how I'll rig but by god the water in it will be warmer than what comes out of the tap, and did grocery shopping.

Most of my halloween costumes were homemade. I had a really cute gypsy costume when I was 4 or 5 that mom made and I loved that skirt! I think the closest I came to storebought was when I went as Tweety, and had a plastic mask. But I wore my dad's yellow windbreakers, orange and yellow argyle socks and cut out feet from posterboard.

OK, I'm eating. The headache can recede.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I kind of can't believe the kids' costumes now -- when I was a kid, they were just that plastic crap!

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

my costumes were all homemade. and we still tend to think that way. one of my sister's last costume - clody with a chance of showers. She wore gray - with clouds pinned the top and carried a squirt bottle.

It isn't money that would buy me options - it is being debt free.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My mother totally finished my open bottle of non-premium brown rum when she was here. Which, not that much of a problem since I had a full bottle waiting to go, but they know when they're visiting that they're supposed to go easy on the stuff they can get more simply than I can...and she also never said. Put the bottle right back in its place with just a splash of liquor in it.

That's so something I'm supposed to do to my mother, not vice versa.

Hmmph.

On the up side, I've started calling Colin "Hot Lunch" because of the latest Eureka preview. Which totally beats "Best! Patrick! Ever!" which was yelled at him when we did the red carpet at the Serenity LA premiere.

eta: DAMN. That might have been the tastiest rum toddy I've ever made. This cold thing might almost be fun.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

rum toddy

Ooh that sounds so much better than Nyquil.

This is when I wish I had a microwave. Because busting out a pot to heat the lemon juice--well, it's a lot of cleanup. But heating the lemon juice makes for a better toddy than putting hot water into lemon juice.

Mmm. Good. I should drink those more when I'm well.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I just watched episodes 12 and 13 of Eureka yesterday. They were kind of not particularly believable. But Colin was really good. Oh, well. Maybe they'll be more fun when the special effects get added in.

I've only seen the season pilot of Eureka. FNL kinda of took over all my viewing time. Now I'll get back to it.

I tried Saving Grace, but I don't think I'll even bother with ep 2.
