"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

"You stupid fucking moron. How could you risk your presidency for this?"-to Bill when the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke in January 1998 (Newsmax.com, 12/09/01).

This sounds perfectly reasonable to me. The ones with the ethnic slurs aren't pretty, however. (I have no idea if they're actually true or not, either. A lot of them come from the Secret Service, which, I thought... they kept... secrets? Maybe not.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

One approach has been to train bands of larger, more ferocious langur monkeys to go after the smaller groups of Rhesus macaques.

Oh yeah, no possibility of that plan backfiring.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A lot of them come from the Secret Service, which, I thought... they kept... secrets?

Yes, but they're also a service. So if you don't pay your Secret Service bill, your secrets don't get kept.

And I've heard this one

"You stupid fucking moron. How could you risk your presidency for this?"

before. So that one at least I figure is probably true.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm not surprised she has a potty mouth in general.

OK, so I'm reading the cnn.com story about the SoCal fires/evacuations, and come across this:

The winds driving the flames are expected to stay strong, coming out of the northeast, at least through Tuesday, according to CNN meteorologist Rob Marciano.

And all I can think is, "Boston Rob is a meteorologist now?!?"

Edit: Ah, google tells me his last name is actually Mariano, so I was close but no cigar.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Corwood, I am so sorry for your loss.

Corwood, very sorry for your family's loss. Knowing it's coming doesn't make it any easier upon arrival.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had a crown put on today.(actually, a temporary crown. I have to go back in two weeks for the permanent one) I took the rest of the day off since I figured I'd either have have my face feeling numb, or my jaw would be aching all day. Then I managed to smack my knee hard on the doorframe coming in, and no, I'm not sure how I did that one. Now it hurts.

I got some good news over the weekend. Two of my best friends, a couple, are expecting. The wife is four months pregnant. I'd love some general first-pregnancy-mah, as I guess they've been trying and had a complication last year.

I'm so not a kid person, but for some reason I'm kinda psyched about this. More than with any of my sister's pregnancies, quite honestly, but most of those happened at absolutely the wrong age (I was 8 when the first of the eventual eight niece/nephews were born, and the next six were within five years of the first, so this was during pre-teen/teendom - not the best time to have to learn to share your siblings' affections when you've been the baby of the family up to then).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The father of a friend of my sister's was voted into government in India, but didn't move into the official residence since monkeys had the run of the place.

Now, that's a third world problem.

You'd think they'd have monkey exterminators for that sort of thing.
