"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Why do some people have to suck so very much?

Thrive to spite them

I strongly believe that the if the right wing ultraconservative stay in power at some point in the future we'll be seeing attempts to publicly funded & promote the idea that sex within marriage should be for conception only.

It's what these people believe and they want to make all of their beliefs public policy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think you're right, askye. Except, they don't really believe it! They believe it for "other people," but obviously half of them are whoring around and/or getting divorced and/or secretly gay, each of which would be wrong, per stated "beliefs."

Argh.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Maybe contraception is okay if you're really really ashamed of it.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

t bats eyes fetchingly I have two more APA style questions:

  • How do you cite an entire Web site in your References?
  • When does one use "Visited" and when "Retrieved from" in References?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh, they believe it for themselves too... they just believe the other stuff makes you a nasty, bad, naughty boy.

Basically, if we make it legal we ruin their kink. Now why we gotta go an' do that? Can't we just be ashamed and keep gay sex fun and in men's rooms where it belongs?

Coding and Sleeping

If the Presidential lineup for 2008 is any indication, they are losing power. None of the realistic possibilities are going to thrill the ultraconservative religious right. Of course if Hillary is nominated then they are still going to come out in force since they think Hillary eats babies grilled over burning bibles.

I think it's their ideal. That sex is not for pleasure at all. Only for procreation and that's what it should be. Masterbation is cheating on your current (or future) spouse.

And it's all the people who don't think of sex as evil and bad that have corrupted all the "upstanding" people into cheating/whoring around/etc. It's the ungodly masses fault. But if there's no temptation then everyone will fall in line, so they are are thinking.

It reminds me of what I've read about the Purtains, and how they'd take away more and more things and try and legistlate piety more and more and it all back fired.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

On a completely different note, Stephen King was spotted reading between innings at an ALCS game: [link]

"King told reporter Chris Myers on-air that he 'could read 18 pages between innings normally. But now that Fox is doing the games, I can read 27 pages between commercial breaks.' Not a bad idea for home viewers."

I sometimes read at the ballpark if I get there before DH and Annabel, but so far I've saved my between-inning reading for home viewing.
