Quick question for theater people. A friend got pressured into playing the madman in the Telltale Heart for Halloween. (How original!). The question, at the end when he starts raving he breaks into uncontrollable laughter. Are there any tricks real actors know for not breaking up when delivering lines they find hilarious?

Teppy, a few weeks ago I got a tape from a friend with the beginning of "Ugly Betty", the first season, and a "You *have* to see this!" excited recommendation. We had an Israeli version (of the original telenovela), which was mostly silly, and not much more than that. My friend assured me that the USA version is great. Your tagline makes me guess that you agree with her?
It really IS great! At first I wasn't sure I'd like it, because I can't handle shows/stories that involve humiliating a character, and I was afraid that "Ugly Betty" could head that way. It hasn't, though, and it's had some fantastic moments.

dare guess you've never worked with Israelis before. Nobody (other than me) will remember anything next year.Heh. I worked with a bunch of Israelis at the Jewish high school, and I have to say that I learned a lot about both the good and bad inherent in Israeli culture. The funniest thing is that they joke about it all the time.

Yay! I know what I'm going to do once this working day (which is already tomorrow morning, in case you were wondering) is over.

It was recommended to me by a friend who really doesn't like this sort of stuff as well, so I wasn't worried already. But it's always good to read.
