getting hammered with nasty screeds from fandom

What's the rumpus?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

shrift, I am having to bite my tongue so hard to keep myself from responding to a certain person in a certain LJ comm. Especially when she declares that she's "about ready" to give up on the organization. As if she was anything but hostile and shit-stirring from the beginning.

Chilly morning. And windy. Yikes.

cool Trek casting

Frank, what's this?

I got up late so I'm still working on where to go for coffee. My kitchen is not the answer. Shower first, though.

Punishingly Intricate

and, to carry over a conversation from Bitches, lisah should get a pair of light blue tights.

Awesome! That's PERFECT for me. Thanks, Tom.

What's the rumpus?

Oh god, you do not want to know, dude. It's a sad, pathetic, will-make-your-brain-explode rumpus.

shrift, I am having to bite my tongue so hard to keep myself from responding to a certain person in a certain LJ comm.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking a lot of "don't let the screen door hit you" thoughts.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I'm always confused when I wake up and am just getting my coffee and sitting down to my work when all y'all are talking lunch. I used to be in your time zone!

Although, definitely get the mushroom risotto. Mmm, risotto. Tonight's menu plan is Mario Batali's squash risotto. It is teh yum. But takes work, so although it was last night's menu plan, I was tired and last night ended up being frozen meatloaf. That was a good idea. It was like I'd slaved over a hot oven all day, but I hadn't. Or rather, I had, but it was a week ago, and I only slaved the once.

What else? Oh, fandom. Yeah. What can you do? Don't let it drive you crazy. You'll achieve plenty even with the naysayers. Remember this whole thing came out of negative junk. That anything positive at all is coming out of it is great.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I'm reading all this talk about food, and my sister calls to tell me that she and my new BIL cashed in the LobsterGram I passed onto them (since I wasn't going to be able to cash it in before it expired this upcoming Monday). They were able to get lobster tails, steaks, clam chowder, lobster bisque, and crab cakes for the $100 of the gift certificate plus an extra $100 (which included the $30 for delivery). Not bad, for all that food!

I've got my new LobsterGram for participating in that citizenship quiz a few weeks ago, and have been looking over the catalog to figure out what to order. I was leaning towards king crab legs, but my sister pointed out that two pounds aren't really a lot of meat, and the next level up of 4 pounds would take the whole amount of the gift certificate. I'll have to think about it before ordering. The shrimp and corn chowder sounds yummy.

Alibelle, are you still around? I must remember to call you later.

Morning arrived extra early today which made me extra cranky. I thought I was tricking Noah last night by feeding him at 10:30. Maybe he would sleep through until 5:00? OH NO! Little bugger got me. He woke up at 4:00, which means there was NO POINT in trying to go back to sleep.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I just inhaled a breakfast sammich from Starbucks (turkey bacon and fake egg, whoot!) and it was fucking delicious.
