Doesn't matter that we took him off that boat, Shepherd, it's the place he's going to live from now on.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

The Trib just says "more than 100" but I doubt they've updated since it was posted.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I saw the over 300 number on the 10pm news. As for water, turns out the race did not supply water (or not enough water, I'm unclear on that) along the route. Runners were having to stop convenience stores along the way and buy water/gatorade/etc. Which is totally ridiculous.

eta: ah. Not enough water. Here's the story:

seems they didn't plan for needed extra fluids and they ran out.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Christ. I cannot hear. Tinnitus.

Did I do something wrong in another life? Or really wrong in this one? Very loud. Cannot sleep. I don't think the ER can help, but I'm giving them a shot. Otherwise I will snap.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, ita.

That Chicago marathon situation is a mess. So sad.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

ita, for what it's worth, aspirin can make my ears go crazy with the high-pitched "ring". If you're using a new combination of painkillers, that could be a symptom.

I'm degronkifying with my Mom, preparatory to getting on the road to home. Hopefully I'll only have to beat off her clinging with a club two or three times....

I mean, it's nice that my Mom loves me, but I suspect I know where my Drama Princess tendencies got started.

Oh, and the thing about Mallomars? For one, they're relatively fresh, which means a whole lot of difference in the texture and taste -- the Pinwheels are formulated for shelf stability, especially the candy shell, which I suspect is more wax than chocolate. By contrast, the Mallomar shell is candy-bar quality chocolate, such that it's delicious just to tease off a little piece with your lips and let it melt on your tongue. Also, the marshmallow has a subtle vanilla flavor, and the 'cake' part has a soft, yielding quality, like pound cake. You can eat them individually, or bite into one for a melange of flavors and textures.

It's a damn shame they make me sick.

I feel your not-exactly-pain thing with you mother. Mine's getting better, though.

I've had tinnitus for a good (ha!) decade now. But for it to be loud enough to wake me from 10mg of dilaudid. That's loud as shit.

I'm here and everyone's being nicely solicitous, but this feels even dumber than my mystery migraine pain. And to add to the drug soup, they gave me valium. Oy.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Egads, ita. I hope that clears up soon.

Happy Thanksgiving Day, Canadians!

I have to tell my twin sister today that we're moving. If anyone hears a strange wailing coming from Indiana, it's probably that.

Thrive to spite them

Oh, I meant to ask earlier - is there fic where people write crossovers of characters played by the same actor? I'm sure it's been done since everything has been done, but is it common?

There's a bit of this in Due South fandom, there are crossovers with Due South and Hard Core Logo is probably the most popular crossover.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It happened a bit in Sentinel too, though Richard Burgi had largely been in crap TV shows.

I saw a Star Trek story once that slashed the character Robert Duncan McNeill played on Voyager with his one-shot character on NextGen.
