ION, people in other places may not have heard about the controversy with the taxis being required (?) to have credit card machines and GPS in them. I rode in one of the cabs that has it! The credit card machine was incredibly handy, but the GPS was creepy -- it knew when we changed lanes! Weird.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
My RE agent had that turn-by-turn thing in her car. Creepy, but also really cool.
In Philly all the cabs had card swipey machines in the back seat - so much better than Chicago where they dial it in on this little machine that takes forever, and never without a dirty look. If they'll even take cards at all.
I loved the GPS unit we had in our rental car in Hawaii. I think I might like CC machines in taxis--I'm always worried if I've forgotten cash.

Is the controversy about expense, or being able to pinpoint their location, or what? The cab company I've called recently has both, but they can't get enough reception right in front of one of my ERs to be able to swipe my card there, which is annoying. At least the paper way worked everywhere. And they always act like I only just mentioned it was credit card--I say so when I call for the cab, and when I tell the driver where to go. Sometimes they're just more interested in arguing with me about my choice (or the location) of destination.
The GPS is controversial due to The Man issues.
Aren't most controversies due to The Man issues?
Noah is being impossibly cute. Literally. His cuteness is impossible. Grace too is being cute. THIS is how babies get you to make more of them.

Now I want to think about that more, but I can't, due to brain deadness.
It's either The Man or Money, most of the time, I think, with controversies. Either that or the audience feeling superior.

My brother and I have a theory that they develop the grin and later giggle skills at just the right time in order to keep the adults from losing their minds. And then the crawling and then the... you get the idea.
A friend's mother said she had the second kid because no way could labour have hurt that much the first time round. That misconception didn't last long.
Would go a way to explain the national average.
CSI this week featured the dining in the dark that we never got a chance to try. Coincidentally as I watch it, it was to be with the same friend as in the first paragraph.
