I saw those pics and was struck by the awesomeness of the binkie doll, as by the awesomeness of your beautiful baby girl. She's so pretty.
We should try to meet up on a Monday or Tuesday. I'm home on Tuesdays so that's probably the easiest, but I could easily get home by 3 or so on a Monday or Wednesday as long as I had advance notice.
Tuesdays are good. Or goodish! We could go have Oaxacan!
Grace looks like she's doing awesome.
Thanks... she does. I mean for an impossibly sick child she is actually pretty sturdy, strong and healthy.
She's so pretty.
Thank you! I love the hair growing back in. She had a buddha thing going for a while.
Binky attached to hand-holdable stuffed animal is brilliant!
Genius! She looks so thoughtful there.
Kat, I have a mentee who's interning at my school this year and teaching one class. She's really interested in UCLA's graduate education program and asked me if I knew anyone who was familiar with the program. I know that you're beyond swamped right now, so I don't want to impose on you, but do you know anyone who could give her the inside scoop? She's thinking about applying for next year. Thanks!
ETA: OH! Such cute pictures!!
We could go have Oaxacan!
Mmm, yes! I love that place.
Kristin, tell her not to! UCLA is much better at hoity-toity theory than at the practice of teaching. Also, they have a thing about only letting teachers teach in their second year at about 70 or schools approved by them because of their focus on "social justice" (this is all from me and I went through their teacher ed program).
Better programs are Mount St. Marys (so much more practical and less theory laden -- and I've taken at least one class there) and Northridge. We have a student teacher from Pepperdine and he likes their program, but I know nothing about it. I just know that MSM and CSUN would be cheaper.
Which Oaxacan place do you prefer? The one on Gateway/Ocean park, or the one in the same lot as TJ's.
I took the bus into work today. Took as much time as driving in. Even though I have a cab company's number on me, I still feel naked in public.
I assumed she meant Guelaguetza, the place on Palms. There are several others in the neighborhood as well (including the other one you note and a good one on Washington and Inglewood).
