Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

I don't know WTF is up with Tuesday at 9, but last week my DVR decided not to tape House, and this week it dissed Eureka. Luckily, I can catch Eureka at midnight, but STILL.

Getting off of work @ 9pm (EST) makes it hard to get Eureka, I love the 12am rerun.

What life lessons did you learn working in the Georgetown Haagen-Dazs?

Uhm... I would be in utmost fear of being somethinged-to-death by the killing machine that is Henry Rollins. I'd attempt some joke about his bad-ass-itude but all of them have been consumed by Chuck Norris.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

However carefully the questions were crafted, I'll bet the "thanx" is what did it. Or would have done for me.

I must have overlooked that, I was too busy imagining the author running from Rollins try to violate him with a post-hole-digger. Still there is no honest excuse for using thanx... it saves a drastic 2 lttrs

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh no! Grevious insult to Nilly on House
The nerve! I might not watch now, just on the principles of the thing.

I went to watch Reaper, realized I was too crazytired to focus on a silly (in a good way) TV show, decided I would go do something semi-productive until bedtime... and woke up 90 minutes later. Oops. But now I only feel like I'm wrapped in one layer of bubblewrap instead of 10, so that's probably a good thing.

I have no idea why I'm so deathly tired. I blame fall.

I think my new goal in life is to be somewhat emotionally engaging....
Heh. I support you on that. I don't think I get particularly emotionally engaged by my Roomba. But we've established that I don't get particularly emotionally engaged by people, either, so I may not be a good example. Mostly I just want it to be hybridized with Big Trak so it randomly shoots a laser while vacuuming. "Vroooooooooom... byew byew byew!"

Oh ita, I hope they do whatever good things they did last time. I was happy that you weren't in pain for a little while, and sad that unpained-ita was such a rare event.

Oh WOW I haven't thought about those in years. My older brother got one for Christmas when they came out. It's almost disturbing how long ago that was

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

(when it was dry, by the time you got to the last row, the first was often dry)

This! But for me (who came to it late in life enough to be charmed by it and not aggravated) this is the beauty of line laundry where I live. There isn't any waiting. I just put it up, then I take it down. And it's dry and smells all outdoorsy and breezy and clean.

Heh. My friend Ivor was a drummer in several DC hardcore bands, including SOA which featured a young Henry Garfield (nee Rollins) as lead singer. (Ivor was then in Faith and then Embrace. Not the current band called Embrace, but the pre-Fugazi thingie with Ian MacKaye). Anyway, Ivor also worked at the ice cream shops, as did Ian, I think. It was A Thing in that circle.

Same here, with the older brother at Xmas. Big Trak may have been the tipping point for me, where I went from Barbies to electronic toys, because I think it was the following year that I got Merlin and maybe the Magical Musical Thing.

I believe Big Trak is still in my brother's closet at my mom's. We pulled it out a couple years back and it still worked after we found enough batteries for it, although I seem to recall that the beeping was less enthusiastic than it used to be.

As a guy I can't speak for the "pretty-pretty princess factor" (in whatever your style), and everything has it's time and place. But how aren't electronics and the like more fun than dolls as a kid growing up? (This is probably choir preaching here?)
