It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Paperdol, is there a Buy Buy Baby or Babies R' Us near you? You should be able to find a car seat base at either. Target might also have them, but IME their in-store inventory is pretty shabby.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's been a slow natter day.

So this morning, I got up, looked at the clothes I'd picked out last night, and thought "I am too tired to put on a skirt."

How do you guys get dressed for work? (minus two points to anyone who says "one leg at a time.") Do you pick your clothes out the night before? Do you wait and see what you feel like when you wake up?

i'm lucky, Dana. i can wear jeans every day if i want to. some mornings it's still a struggle to find a shirt i want to wear and i usually just end up throwing something comfortable on.

ION i have my shiny, new ipod and i have named it metallipod.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Paperdol, there's a Babies R Us in West Covina and one in Van Nuys. Like Jessica said, they should have a good stock of bases.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How do you guys get dressed for work?

Usually I check the weather that morning, which helps me decide long/short sleeves, etc. Then I just grab whatever that fits the criteria. Unless there's someone I want to impress, but that hasn't happened in a while....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Do you wait and see what you feel like when you wake up?

I mostly wait and see what I feel like when I wake up, but there are definitely nights where I know the next morning is going to be a dress day. Dress days are the easiest, because there's no matching.

Lately I've been picking clothes and getting dressed in the dark so as not to wake Boy. Generally I pick up off the floor what I was wearing the day before, and maybe a clean t-shirt, which is identified by touch and smell. This week it's been my big old baggy jeans, but that might have to change tomorrow as it's going to rain and they soak up water as I walk. In which case it'll be skirt and boots.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Matilda is even more adorable when contemplating cake and playing with her cup and spoon.

Setting your phone to play anything like the chicken dance is grounds for ... something more painful and lingering than being beaten to death with it.

Sophia, the professor's being an asshat. Can you set the ringer REALLY loud and make it impossible to turn it down? tape or something (you would, of course, turn it down yourself when the professor isn't there).

And Dana, I usually half-way plan what I'm going to wear before actually getting dressed, but it's always subject to change depending on weather, whether I've overslept (some days I just can't face putting on pantyhose ... and those are the days I can't get them on straight), and what I have planned for the day.

Bwah!

Toddson is me. Last night I thought about what I would wear today, but didn't lay it out, or anything, but some days are just throw on a black skirt and a black sweater and go!

Also, since we had the no wearing black discussion here, I am not wearing black as much!

paperdol, you don't really need a carseat base and I'm not recommending that you get one (you can strap the carseat in without a base, the base just makes it easier). We got a spare on craigslist and one at the target in pasadena.

It's deliciously hot out. Good hot. Not bad, multiple days over 100 degrees hot.
