Yeah, yeah!! This is actually part of my problem -- I only have two days in the office, so it barely seems worthwhile even trying to get anything done, but yet? That is the opposite of the truth.

the stinking cut and paste from word wonks up every bit of the formatting and makes me look dumb, unless I PRINT OUT THE DOCUMENTS AND TYPE THEM IN.
Try cutting and pasting into Notepad and then from Notepad to Blackboard. Won't make Blackboard suck less, but it should strip the formatting out as much as possible.

That's a trick I use fairly often. I wish there was a "cut as plain text" or "paste as plain text" option.
For the love of God, why isn't paste as plain text the default? It annoys the fuck out of me.

In Word there is, through Paste Special. Also, before copying from Word, you can choose Clear Formatting from the Style window.
In Word 2003, there's a "Keep Text Only" dropdown from the clipboard icon.
