H&M is notorious for requiring a size up, which is why I mostly buy skirts there.
H&M say they go by European sizing, which is a full size up from US sizing. It's pretty consistent for me.
Also, all three of our H&Ms are within 5 blocks of each other. I go to the huyuge one to see what styles I like, and then go to one of the other two to actually find my size, since the big one tends to only have the wee tiny sizes.
The labels have multiple sizes on them, including US.
I am a little overweight, so going in and finding everything in sizes 0-4 does not really boost the ol' self-confidence.
Oh, yuck. I was just having a conversation about how, when I lived in Manhattan, I like to go to the big chain stores (Old Navy for sure, I forget what else) in Harlem, because they always had an awesome selection in my size, which was not necessarily the case in other parts of town.

Not at all! They really vary on what's in stock from store to store and, like, minute to minute.
If you want to find the Big Girl clothes, you need the suburbs.
