Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Emmett!
Tonight we go see Genesis at the MCI center. Other than that, quiet day here.
ah! Nilly!
Also, Alibelle, I just gave a stack of romancey type books away. Or a few. I may have more (I think I do). If you wanted to come over and meet Noah and get books, I could do that.

We had the party yesterday and he had a very good time. He had three friends sleep over so he woke up on his birthday with his friends and is undoubtedly chowing down on pancakes and leftover cake to celebrate.
He's eleven! He's in middle school. Remember when I started him in first grade?
Happy Birthday Emmett!
I have had a week off from work, and I feel so healthy and relaxed. I really hope this good feeling doesn't come falling down tomorrow.
I have also been experiencing a lot of little coincidences, and they're blowing my mind. Little things like dreaming about someone I haven't seen and then seeing them a day or two later. Friday night I came home and I turned on the TV to find a Stars video for their new single on. I worked on a theatre festival with Torquil about 15 years ago, and we hung out a fair bit that summer. The next morning I am walking home from the famer's market and a Stars song comes up on my iPod, and I start thinking about Torquil again. When I get home, I decide I'm just going to sack out and read. So I grab a book from my TBR pile, Vermeer in Bosnia by Lawrence Weschler. The second essay in is about a production of Henry V starring Andre Braugher that they did in Central Park in 1996, that was partially inspired by a legal scholar's interest in Shakespeare and the laws of war. It included a scene that is almost always cut out of modern versions, with Pistol capturing a French soldier. And mentioned, as playing a bit part in that scene is my friend Torquil. How weird is that? My mind is kind of blown. I would not be surprised to walk down the street and see him.
I CAN HAZ BUNNY RABBIT.
Anybody have any nice rabbit recipes? I'm thinkingof going with rabbit satay, but I haven't cooked rabbit before so any advice is welcome.
I'm going to cling to the illusion that it's summer for just a wee bit longer.
It's hit 90°here the past couple of days,so that illusion doesn't require much clinging from me.
I think this is kinda' cruel, as the kitty seems rather freaked out... but it's interesting too....

I would love that! I have a bunch of things I have to do today, so I'll call you later if I can make it, and see what you're up to.
Happy Birthday, Emmett! You share your birthday with the Boss! (i.e., Bruuuuuce)
I went running with my sister, and introduced the new dog to my sister's huge St. Bernard. This went better than it might have, if not as well as I hoped for--she ran away from him for a while, and then when she did let him approach, after a bit she snapped at him a little bit, although she never connected. I think it'll be a while before they can be left unsupervised together, and even longer before she's willing to actually play. We'll do more play-dates this week, I think.
And now I have to make fruitcake. Yum!
