What are people doing this weekend?

Doing some cleaning tonight and watching Doctor Who, working at the bookstore tomorrow, and getting together with ChiKat on Sunday in her new apartment!

Oh, and getting my laundry done Sunday night since the elevator in my building will be shut down for two weeks starting on Monday morning. (Whoever thought that replacing that part was a good idea at the end of the month when people might actually be moving was an idiot.) I'll still have to schlep the laundry up and down the stairs next week, as well as my luggage when I head out to my sister's wedding in 12 days, but if I can get this week's wash done early, I'll be happy.

Our wings are not tired

I am pretty sure in almost every apartment I have had the manager had to give me 24 hours notice befre entering if it was considered an emergency. I'm pretty sure thats par for the douse in California.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

What are people doing this weekend?

I have two concerts and a rehearsal. And I technically have a rehearsal tonight, but I'm blowing it off in the interests of seeing my house for longer than two hours at a time. Tonight will be my first free night since Sunday.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I had yummy chicken pad see eiw and I'm taking half of it home for dinner

That sounds nummy. Pad see eiw would require me to schlep my ass outside of this neighborhood. Hmmm... it's a nice day - maybe I could walk 17 minutes each way to one of several places I'm thinking of....

Yeah, I know how long it'll take to walk there because it's near a train station....

It's the same rule around here, but I had signed an approval form when the maintenance guys came by last month, so they could enter with the building inspector at any time.

My old apartment had great maintenance people. Two apartments before that, I let them have it for walking in on me one day when I was asleep at 8AM

What are people doing this weekend?

Er. Good question. I need to watch some things before my TiVo bursts. Do some committee work. Submit my fandoms to Yuletide. Sleep a whole bunch. Crap, I have a meeting on Sunday...

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I am pretty sure in almost every apartment I have had the manager had to give me 24 hours notice befre entering if it was considered an emergency. I'm pretty sure thats par for the douse in California.

My (old) landlords slid a notice under my door around the first of the month that "this notice constitutes your 48 hr notice that we may be showing your apartment." Whatev. And I did get a voicemail the other day that was all "this is a courtesy call that we'll be showing your unit in the next 30 minutes."

The fuck? I mean, I'm already out but they don't know that (and since I'm going back to clean this weekend, it looks like ass in there). If I wasn't, they'd've encountered a large unhappy dog on the other side of the door, to say nothing of the large unhappy me once I got the message.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I am pretty sure in almost every apartment I have had the manager had to give me 24 hours notice before entering if it was considered an emergency. I'm pretty sure that's par for the course in California.

It's law in San Francisco at least, and I'm fairly sure in the rest of the state. The other thing I like about SF is rent control. Yay rent control!
