Hil, definitely go with that no-more-for-two-weeks - let your brain some time to play with it alone while you're not there.
Maybe only read the final chapters of PoA? The ones after all the exams, with the most-of-the-action parts?
Also, I gotta go - still has to get organized before I leave for my parents soon.
I hope you manage to get some rest in what's left of the night. Not necessarily sleep, just rest. And, hey, if you have sleep to catch up on tomorrow, you could spend a large part of the fast sleeping, and it may be easier for you, right?
Take care.
FWIW, I also find some simple computer solitaire games, like Freecell to be hypnotizing but not so brain-involving that they can calm whatever insomnia-producing demons are riding me, after a while. The games can't be word games, because reading only revs up my brain generally.

I don't like the sound of this "thing"!
Too late! Already saw him and have been crushing!
Happy Birthday Sophia!
Great news about the childcare, Kat. What a relief!
ION, my baby can flip! (And was finally willing to do it on camera.)
Just saw this while catching up. It's actually shown on screen. At the very beginning, he hit/shoves her in response to her breaking his golf clubs.
gets ready to be pounced on
That scene makes me laugh and laugh and laugh so hard and it's probably one of my favorite bits from the film. But, ITA - JS totally out hots CG in that movie.
My "new" favorite Cary Grant role is Mortimer in
Arsenic.
Sigh. He's like Loyd Dobbler!
Secret Dead Celebrity Boyfriend(s): Jack Haley. Danny Kaye.
YAY Kat for childcare being resolved! I, personally, found that when Em went from the Montessori to the out-of-a-home daycare, she became a lot more vocal and really liked it so much more. She thrived there. She did great at the school, but she just seemed more comfortable at the home.
YAY Susan's mom!! Glad to hear treatment has been successful.
I don't get the bucket thing. I've lost touch with the zeitgeist I guess.
Lisah, if you go to I Can Has Cheezburger, and look at the Bucket Saga....it's all quite cute. Especially if you like walruses.
Some guy just tried to headhunt me on my work phone in my open-plan office while my supervisor was sitting less than five feet away. Ha ha what?
Do it, shrift! Just say "That's very interesting. Let me look into some things and get back to you, what number can I reach you at?" Then it sounds work-appropriate, and the head hunters are totally used to that.
How did TicketMaster manage to get this seeming monopoly?
Hmm. They're eeeevil. Deals with the devil?
YAY Susan's mom!
Discovery of the morning: it is apparently permissible to wear jeans here on Friday. Woot! I'd sort of figured it would be, but still. I'm surprisingly pleased. It's the little things.
I'm on my plane for the trip home. Hopefully no delays.
Thanks Sue and Jessica!
Unfortunately, I have nothing exciting planned for my b-day. I am at work and I am having a meeting tonight with my designer.
I am glad to hear about your mom, Susan.
