Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I just want to point out a local news item from the dept of signs and portents, positive division: a Texas state representive from Grand Prairie announced today that he's switching parties from Republican to Democrat because the Republican leadership has grown so far away from his values. It's a little thing, I know, but it seems major that a Texas Republican is switching sides because of his values.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah. The Texas State GOP has one of the furthest right-wing agendas out there. [link]

Tax Cuts, p. 17 - "The Party urges the IRS be abolished," and the following taxes eliminated: "income tax, inheritance tax, gift tax, capital gains, corporate income tax, payroll tax and property tax."

On p.8, Free Exercise of Religion: "Our party pledges to exert its influence to ... dispel the "myth" of the separation of church and state."

p.8, Christian Nation: "The Republican Party of Texas affirms the United States of America is a Christian Nation ..."

p.2 #10: "We oppose conservation easements on our natural resources administered by organizations unaccountable to tax payers and voters." (That means land trusts and conservation groups would be declared unconstitutional.)

hip deep in pie

Thanks for all the birthday wishes guys. They mean a lot.

I have some days where I am barely productive, and I feel guilty, but I start doing work and I am bored to tears. I know that I have to make a work change soon...I'm stagnating.

I am totally having quit work and do something creative fantasies. Lately, I've got the idea to open a bakery/cafe that does pies and cupcakes, etc. There are no good places to get pies town. The fact that I've made one pie in my lifetime isn't stopping me from thinking about it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am alone in the office. Fear me.

Except I might have to answer the phone. Fear the phone.
