That is weird, and depressing, tommyrot. From what (very) little I know of Mohammed, he himself would've gotten a kick out of the cartoon. This was a man who, when he found one of his cats peacefully asleep on the sleeve of his favorite fancy jacket just as he was about to go out, cut the sleeve off and departed one-sleeved rather than wake the cat.
I am updating numbers and links. It will be a thrilling day.

Supervisor who can see my screen hasn't come into the office yet, so I'm noodling around on the internets while I still can.

Bet the Morlocks got it.
Geekery on Dork Tower. Hee.
I want a job with boring repetitive tasks. I am late on testing and producing a sample for a new launch and for the past 2 days I have not been able to eek enough time between meetings, interruptions for answers , and system issues to complete it. GRR!
I was just thinking a little while ago that my job is often rather intuitive. There are often quite a number of ways I can approach solving a particular problem, and the strategy I use can mean the difference between a few minutes work and a few hours (if I start by looking at the wrong things) or maybe the difference between an hour and a day. Oftentimes I'll just intuit where to begin looking at the problem. It's weird, but it seems I'm rather good at this. My bosses often call me over for consults, sometimes just because a fresh perspective can be productive in problem-solving, but also because they know I'm good at getting to the heart of the matter quickly.
So I'll have to keep that in mind next time I feel guilty over slacking too much.
Hmm... maybe that's not the best lesson here, but it's one I choose to embrace.
I am on a new computer which has IE7, so tabbed browsing FTW.
90% of the time, I don't slack when I actually have work to do. I just hurry up and get the work done so I can slack off again.
