"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I have never had a flu shot, but I did have the flu one year. It's distinctive because not only did I have a four-pack-a-day cough for the next month, the initial illness was the kind where you end up sleeping on the floor because you're not smart enough to find your bed. In your own bedroom.

Of course, I'm also theoretically the person who had whooping cough a year ago, or anyway I had a cough, and it was loudly persistent, and the doctor theorized as much but strangely nobody around me came down with similar symptoms.

...I think that somebody on this planet is smoking four packs a day with impunity, and I am getting that person's symptoms.

Art Crawl!!!

I love the AG paraphernalia. It's so good. Plus - I've always loved the historical stuff so all the 18th and 19th century AG paraphernalia -- totally want.

Punishingly Intricate

(Note: Barbie was verboten in my house.)

hah! Mine too! I had Sunshine Family.

And lots of other dolls, mostly cheap ones I bought with my own money at the 5 & Dime.

But I played with Barbies at my best friend's house.

I would have LOVED the American Dolls when I was a kid. I was super into olden days! And I would not have been able to have them because of the spendiness.

Maybe the fact that I get an incredibly high grade fever every 3-4 years is a sign that I am an alien with a slow molt.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Maybe the fact that I get an incredibly high grade fever every 3-4 years is a sign that I am an alien with a slow molt.

Be careful. That takes me right into the land of scary Smallville fic.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Slowest day ever. Y/N?

Put me in the Y times @@ camp.

Megan, you should come down here for brunch with JZ and let us show you 280 to 92 to Half Moon Bay and the beaches near by. I showed it to Cass and AmyLiz this weekend. SO PRETTY.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I actually didn't really have any dolls, except one named Chocolate Milk (yeah, I don't know). Mostly I had stuffed animals. But my godsister had some Barbie condo thing, which was the BOMB. It had inflatable poolside furniture!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Slowest day ever. Y/N?

Definitely Y.

Also, I have a sinus headache that's threatening to inch into migraine territory. NOT. COOL.

My office gives free flu shots, so I always get one. Except for last year when I hadn't told anyone I was pregnant yet, and I couldn't figure out a way to ask "is this safe for pregnant women?" without revealing that I was one.

Trust my rage

I love all the American Girl paraphenelia, too

Me too. Would I be a terrible mom if I expressed to her grandparents that Ellie needs some bitty baby paraphenelia to help her get ready for the arrival of her new brother/sister?

(Seriously, she loves that baby, so it wouldn't be just for me. She spends a good 20 minutes before bed each night changing the baby's clothes, reading to her, and then covering her with a blanket. )

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Nilly's Yom Kippur posts always make me wish she had offended me in some way so that I could participate in her process. But no.

Yes, I think for the next year we all need to focus on being more offensive.

Aimee, you know the Am Girl store is in Chicago, right? And they even have a theatre and I think a restaurant.

I rarely get sick. Plus I'm not around any small children or people at higher risk, which would be a different situation.
