I would never use a hotel room in town. I don't see the point, unless you're escaping your children.
I think that we have a different perspective as single people. If I had a honey, I would be far more inclined to enjoy that kind of present, I think.
Well, with the airline gift certificate I might feel obligated to use it for a flight I would have taken anyway so, while it would be nice to save the money, it wouldn't be much of a treat.
I agree with that totally.
bon, you need to see a doctor. No matter how you accomplish that, you shouldn't feel stupid.
What she said. I went to a walk-in clinic at Mt Sinai a few times that was just all right, but not ER prices, either. Not that you want to go all the way up there, but I bet St. Vincent's or someone has an urgent care non-ER kind of place you can call and go right into.
Maybe a hotel gift cert for a chain? And tell him the idea is for him to use it in town, but then he has the option to use it out of town as well?
I really, really like this idea.
bon bon, emergency care works well. And the wait times are a lot less than ER, at least around here.
St. Vincent's has an 800 number you can call to get a doctor referral: [link]
I've been to urgent care once or twice, and yeah, if you don't have a doc you can get a random doctor to x-ray you and give you a prognosis. I agree with all the recs.
I'd use a hotel in town, even by myself. Sometimes I don't want to be the one with any responsibility.
I'm single and I would totally stay in a hotel in town by myself. If I had $500 to burn. So I'd love that as a gift. Hotel stuff is so nice! The sheets that someone else washes and the towels you can leave on the floor! Not to mention room service.
I joined Facebook last night and reconnected with an old boyfriend. I tentatively sent him a message and he sent me one back saying he regreted losing touch with me. (this would be an ex boyfriend I ended on good terms with).

Me too. I'd love to get a room with a jacuzzi and just be a lazy slob all day... and if I felt like making the effort, I could put on nice clothes and go to a nice restaurant, otherwise I would just get room service.
Staying in a hotel, even a swank one, in town makes no sense to me unless my home is uninhabitable. I can rationally understand how some people would enjoy it, but it wouldn't work for me.
God, is it only Tuesday?
It took me 10 minutes to find the time to type up these few lines. I can't even say how long it took to manage to read only the last 30 or whatever posts. I'll catch up later. After I fall down dead and recover.
