I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If he spends four seasons out-thinking everyone else, I think I'll fall away from the show much before that. I don't like him, clearly, because he's both crazy and dangerous without being exciting or rewarding--I'm in it for Will and Jack and the Merry Gang Of Crime Scene Three (I am still getting a Kids In The Hall echo--I thought it would have worn off by now). There needs to be some status quo other than them being played for fools for four years. For me to be engaged, I mean. And all that time worrying about Will's wellness will be really exhausting.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I will never try is Bates motel.

I think it was Bryan Fuller that I saw saying good things about it. I don't seem to have access to that show.

And the visual design!

Right?! It's like the whole show is a Dutch oil painting.

I find the meals hilarious, but it may help that I don't eat red meat.

Gillian Anderson on her role in Hannibal... [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

“There were a few considerations because I was not really interested in doing network television for a while, but the idea playing Hannibal’s psychiatrist is really cool,” Anderson said

Why do I feel that's not exactly what she said?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Completely understandable. But I'm clapping with glee at the Infamous BlueJay's threat to make all the recipes off of the blog run by the show's food stylist.

Did I tell you I ran into the Stunt Husband yesterday at Central Market, where he was picking up things to make a Hannibal-themed meal?

Hee! He texted to say he'd seen you. Yeah, we're having a fancy cannibal viewing thing on Friday night. Binge-watching episodes with decadent food, drinks, and place settings.

That sounds wonderful. I'm glad you're enjoying the show. I'm hoping that it does better in the ratings next season. I want this show around for years.

Jesus--Hannibal was renewed for 13, right? So it's going to be 2014 before we get more? I was dancing around my convictions during this episode, but two things happened--one, I heard my inner Minear (who normally just giggles through this show) say "Show not called Will Graham, ita !" and then the final scene where Hannibal looks upon his creation.

I don't like Hannibal--I don't even root for him in the antagonist way--but I do see vaguely that there exist ways of extending the conceit that might keep me watching. Very vaguely, though.

I admit, I think I missed details throughout the season in his sessions with Scully--how much do we know about his pattern? Has he made other Wills before? Has he tried and failed?

Also, that was tete d'Abigail, right? What meat are the actually eating, whether it's long pig or short cow? Cheeks? We do know he was short an ear, anyway.

I don't know if it's 13, but it will be mid-season.

Damn it hurts to see Caroline Dhavernas cry. I'd love to see her role become meatier, but I'm also afraid that could lead to her... well, becoming meat.

Show not called Will Graham

Ahhh! That thought hurts. I'm gonna stick with my belief that this show is a duet, not a solo, regardless of the title.

how much do we know about his pattern?

She knows that the patient who attacked her was a referral from Hannibal. The detail only the two of them know is that Hannibal killed the patient during the attack. Scully wouldn't know this part but Hannibal was totally trying to see what he could turn Abigail into.

Also, that was tete d'Abigail, right?

Veal? Oh yeah. No idea what cut.

A couple of days ago I realized that the two shows I've been watching lately involve Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy both playing very damaged characters. I hope they have a lot of silly fun at home.

AUUGH AAAUGGH NO GIVE ME NEW EPISODES NOW.

Hi, I've become very ... fervid about this show.

I think Scully knows what Hannibal does, and I think she knew what the dinner he brought her was. Not necessarily who, but what.
