Ginger, I just posted on FB that I'm finding it oddly compelling -- as long as I ignore the fact that it's supposed to be about Sherlock Holmes. As a generic procedural, I'm actually enjoying it. Which could just be the Aidan Quinn factor. He's aged verrrry nicely.

This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
I'm enjoying the touches of Holmes canon and that they aren't reproducing the traditional cases.
I'm acquiring the theory that the people behind this American Sherlock Holmes have never actually read Sherlock Holmes.
good quality Sherlock snark.
I'm also enjoying Elementary -- it's much more House than Conan Doyle, but I like it!
Although every time she says "companion," I can't help but think of Inara.
Given that they played a few bars of 'watching the dectectives' at the end of the fist episode, they are definitely thinking subtext.
the only experience I have of "Watching the Detectives" is the show History Detectives on PBS.
they are definitely thinking subtext
What subtext?
I am on the same page as Jesse, both with House and Inara.
I'm finding myself increasingly nostalgic for police procedurals that care whether the case will hold up in court.
I, too, am Jesse.
