I watched a little bit and then turned off. Seriously - if they'd changed the name it might not raise expectations they can't meet.

Procedurals 1: Anything You Say Can and Will Be Used Against You.
This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
Yeah, Mirren's "Prime Suspect" is like, the ultimate non-Wire procedural. This one was a decent hour of TV, IMO, but nothing else.
who watched the premiere of "The Mentalist?' Well, I did and I find the whole plot with Jayne to be really troubling. First there was the way they wrote off Langston on CSI where his killing the man was hand waved and "oh well'd" and now something similar happened to Jayne.
I don't like the messages they are sending about law enforcement or about how we should really feel about these rogue agents of the law enforcement system. It makes me really uncomfortable.
Am I overreacting? Because at this moment, I'm thinking I will not watch "Mentalist" any more.
I watched it. You mean Jane's acquittal? I think I'm more unhappy with the Red John thing.
okay, I'm unhappy with both things, but why are you unhappy with the Red John thing?
It just seems like a cop-out to me. And a waste of Brad Whitford.
I officially do not care and really never want to hear one more thing about who a)is Red John, b) killed Kate's mother or c)how anyone met anyone's mother.
At this point they will only ever recapture my interest if they all turn out to be the same person.
Ah, ha, ha, ha!
I only watch The Mentalist sporadically, but I did watch the premier, and I was kind of stunned that the jury essentially said, yeah, we get it; we'd have wanted to kill him, too. I mean I get feeling that way, I just don't think I would ever get off of a murder conviction for it. So, yes, LeN, I found it troubling, too.
Castle! did anyone watch it last night? They were back to their old form! Witty banter and the thrill of "Our suspect's a SUPERHERO?!?!".
Although Beckett is disturbingly thin.
Yes, Castle was much, much better last night.
Also, the expression on Castle's face when Alexis said that she and her boyfriend were moving in together was priceless.
The Mentalist: Yes, what a waste of Bradley Whitford, if true. I choose to think it is further indication of Jayne's mental state (unhealthy) and I know that juries actually can do what they want but can't see them actually completely acquitting him.
