I loved the Reaper storyline, and in fact, can tie my disappointment in CM with the end of it.
This is my feeling exactly.

Ah well ... this is why there's more than one show on TV.
Man, Hightower was totally badassed there at the end of The Mentalist. And then...they quoted Firefly.
Maybe not a purposeful ref, but amusing.
Tonight over here they showed the return of the Gravedigger on Bones.
...
What the hell was all that about?
I'm watching old eps of "Prime Suspect", it's so interesting to watch the forensic bits (or lack thereof), because they don't know anything. We're so used to things like "Bones" where they seem to have the cause of death in 5 minutes. It's interesting to hear things like a sketch of the victim will take three weeks.
Hee, the Serenity.
And APPLES.
Hee, the Serenity.
Har, I missed that! Totally obvious, in retrospect.
Is it me, or did the series creators use They Fight Crime to generate the concept of this new series? Minnie Driver to solve some crimes for CBS.
So.....do all cops wear radiation monitors now?? That took me right out of the show for a few minutes.
(HEEE, Serenity shout-out.)
