I like that senior cop too. I'm sure I've seen him in something before. . . but what?

Was the sister on Castle Bianca from AMC?
Watching Part 1 of the Fisher King and LOVING everyone on vacation. Gideon cooking = perfection
And how could you not love a shirtless Derek Morgan on the beach? I loved how he and Elle were kidding each other on the beach.
I'm reading the first few pages of TWOP's CM thread, and giggling over the early consensus that the show has no chance whatsoever, being up against Veronica Mars and Lost (posters were giving it six weeks, tops). Early viewers really were watching because of the Mandy Patinkin factor (explaining why the pilot concentrates so hard on Gideon, which is what annoys me about that ep), and appreciated the hotness of Shemar and were already liking Reid (or "3PhD guy") after the first ep.
Har. I was really salty when it first aired because it seemed like "The Inside"-Lite. It was almost the exact same setup -- older, experienced agent (Web/Gideon), the hot tough guy enforcer (Danny/Morgan), the young go getter father type (Jay/Hotch,) the token woman with no personal life (Mel/Elle), snarky tech type (Nelson/Garcia). There's even the social challenged/special role with Rebecca/Reid.

Oh shit, I totally forgot about that!
Oh yeah, also LOVED half nekkid Morgan and Elle joking around, having a good time, Hotch laughing and loving, Penelope having perfect gaming-dates...perfect set up for the tear down. Poor Reid and JJ, being the only two team members not living it up.
I think what i loved most about seeing Gideon cooking/dancing in his remote cabin was that it totally reminded me of my Dad, who sometimes sings silly songs while cooking on vacation. It's such a lovely thing, actually made me like Gideon for a few glorious minutes. (i went into the show with a knowledge of Mandy Patinkin as a human being which makes it pretty much impossible to like him on film...except as Inigo Montoya. That coupled with the character's narcissism mentioned upthread...yeah, usually hard to like him) Until his date showed up. Ye gods, that face, that voice, totally put me in a PTSD place. One of my least favorite human beings on the planet. I had to ffwd through the couple scenes with her lest i have nightmares of enraged actresses screaming and throwing things at me. I was sad that a casting choice pulled me out of the show so much that i could no longer appreciate a character having a good time.

Yup!
On Castle, have they totally dropped the storyline of Castle dating his ex-wife again?
