Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Oh yeah, also LOVED half nekkid Morgan and Elle joking around, having a good time, Hotch laughing and loving, Penelope having perfect gaming-dates...perfect set up for the tear down. Poor Reid and JJ, being the only two team members not living it up.

I think what i loved most about seeing Gideon cooking/dancing in his remote cabin was that it totally reminded me of my Dad, who sometimes sings silly songs while cooking on vacation. It's such a lovely thing, actually made me like Gideon for a few glorious minutes. (i went into the show with a knowledge of Mandy Patinkin as a human being which makes it pretty much impossible to like him on film...except as Inigo Montoya. That coupled with the character's narcissism mentioned upthread...yeah, usually hard to like him) Until his date showed up. Ye gods, that face, that voice, totally put me in a PTSD place. One of my least favorite human beings on the planet. I had to ffwd through the couple scenes with her lest i have nightmares of enraged actresses screaming and throwing things at me. I was sad that a casting choice pulled me out of the show so much that i could no longer appreciate a character having a good time.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Was the sister on Castle Bianca from AMC?

Yup!

On Castle, have they totally dropped the storyline of Castle dating his ex-wife again?

OK, the plot was a little weak, but there were so many nice little character moments on CM this week.

Looooved the Morgan/Garcia moment. Hotch almost smiled. There was a Gideon reference. Everyone always underestimates Reid, and he's OK with that. And Emily was the badassiest of badasses. Will have to check E. Bear's count tomorrow.

I keep forgetting that TG has fabulous comedic timing. Two characters couldn't be more opposite than Greg and Hotch, but he plays both well.

edit: sj, I think I read spoilers somewhere that it comes back into play soon. Next ep maybe?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I loved the Hotch/Garcia and the Morgan/Garcia interaction this ep.

We have a total CM-style situation going on in Chicago right now. This guy was approaching people in Illinois and Indiana, striking up a conversation about honeybees, and then shooting them. You know, as you do.

Then it turns out it was a cop. Then yesterday there's a big community fundraiser for him to pay his bail. And now today he's actually been cleared and they're back to square one.

I've got to start reading the Tribune more often, brenda! I totally missed that story.

Tonight's CM was the best of the season so far, IMO. Loved the previously cited Garcia/Hotch and Garcia/Morgan stuff, but also loved Reid. I was just saying at TWOP that Reid conducting an interview is one of my favorite things on the show (I was just rewatching "The Fox" last night, and his interview with the Tony Todd character is one of my faves from the entire series), and he had three of them tonight.

Also, his hair wasn't as annoying as it has been since the end of last season. And it definitely seems like the costumers are making purple Reid's go-to color, because he was wearing it all episode long.

I was reading about that earlier, after a coworker based in Chicagoland brought it up. Totally weird and made-for-TV-movie-ish.

Now LDSK is on ION. It's a Chicago kinda night, it seems. I pass through Des Plaines (and by the McDonald's Museum) if I'm avoiding the tollway to/from O'Hare.

Although they screwed up on mentioning "Arlington" in that ep. It's Arlington Heights, not Arlington.

ETA: I'm being picky, because AH is the town immediately south of me. Des Plaines is the next town south of AH.

It's Arlington Heights, not Arlington.

I caught that. It seems to happen fairly frequently with place names--they're almost right, but not quite. For example, in "100" they go through a list of MD cities in their search for Foyet. Emily mispronounces Bowie (I seem to remember Vortex vehemently shaking her head over it). Only newcomers make that mistake. Every last one of them would know how to pronounce it correctly.

They've also said Silver Springs more than once (It's Silver Spring, FWIW)
