Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Vortex, I had diplomatic immunity until I turned 18. My mother had diplomatic immunity as long as my father did.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Hotchner seems to do a lot of killing. lots of shooting, hand to hand combat, carries multiple weapons...and he's a former LAWYER? I get Morgan with his police background/trainng being all gung ho with the violence, but wherefore Hotch's killer streak? I just re-watched The Tribe and he disarms, what, 3 people by himself? Seems unlikely with just FBI training.

“Not dead yet!”

Hotch is a perfectionist, I think. I think beyond whatever FBI Academy training he might have received, he would have taken it upon himself to get extra training.

I also think there was an episode that referred to him having also been part of a SWAT detail, which would account for further training.

ah, ok, SWAT training would account for it. The guy can really put the smack down!

Always Anti-fascist!

He sounds like Tim Bayliss.

When he's coaching Reid in target practice in "LDSK," he mentions how he was trained in shooting when in SWAT.

Always Anti-fascist!

Bayliss was too, everyone jokes about how well-prepared he would be "if terrorists attack Baltimore" Baltimore has a Quick Response Team instead of SWAT, though

Is anyone here watching L&O: UK? I caught one and a half episodes last night. It's nice to see Freema Agyeman again, and Jamie Bamber continues to be very pretty. L&O Original Flavor was sort of comfort TV for me, and I could see this taking its place.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Is anyone here watching L&O: UK?

I am! Comfort TV is a good description. I'm enjoying it, without feeling much investment in characters or plot, which is relaxing for a change.

I've got the second ep on my dvr, waiting for me to watch it (probably tonight). I liked the first ep, even though the accents were a bit thicker than I was used to. I've watched a lot of Brit TV, so I was surprised when I had to turn on the CC for a few minutes of dialogue.
